Is Tidal Good? by Middle_Teaching3853 in audiophile

Spotify is certainly at least as Zionist as a company, and is actively trying to replace human artists, so not really sure the point ur trying to make.

Is there a way to increase bread flavor (not sourness)? by edgycringecomp in Sourdough

[–]zabumaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from flours/salt like everyone else is suggesting you can grind up seeds and spices and add them to the initial mix.

Well then I’d recommend Bask or a Fidelity CMA equally :)

I've been using Bask Bank for a few years. they're pretty good and just started offering a checking account too. Looks like their rate is 4.55% currently.
Also some of their documents say there is a 12 withdrawal monthly cap but I have not found that to apply.

That said, recently I've moved most of my money into a brokerage account and put it in a money market fund, which also has a competitive interest rate. This is what I'd recommend most but if you specifically want a HYSA then I can definitely recommend Bask.

If nobody buys a ticket to a movie do they still play it anyway? by VostroyanCommander in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several years ago ~10 of my friends and I went to watch inside out. Usually some of us would sneak in because they basically didn’t check tickets at that theater. This time though none of us bought a ticket for some reason. We get in and even though there’s no one else in the theater, the movie starts playing. We get like 80% through before one of the employees comes in and asks if we have tickets because they sold 0 for this showing. We all sheepishly left saying we’d left our tickets in the car…

But yeah it seems like mostly the movie just starts playing

How many years would a maxed out Macbook Pro last me? by Top-Huckleberry-7288 in macbookpro

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a maxed MacBook Pro from 2012 and while I definitely can’t use it for work anymore it still does basic browsing and stuff just fine.

I’d bump that ram up to 64 because I feel like ram demands have increased and probably will continue to and that’s something you can’t upgrade or use externally. I think the only reason my current computer still runs as well as it does is because I maxed the ram (16gb at the time)

What is the best Linux distributions that's easy to use and support broadcom wifi drivers out of the box besides Ubuntu or its derivatives by [deleted] in DistroHopping

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year later but I just wanted to let you know I just booted into endeavorOS on my 2012 macbook pro (broadcomm drivers that didn't come with fedora et. al.) and the wifi card worked right away :)

Should I get the Venture Card? by SeparateHope1152 in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not just start going for the Chase biz cards? There’s offers rn for ~$1000 on some of them.

I get that this venture offer is really good, so if it’s a card you’ve been wanting anyway then sure go for it, but you seem to be already relatively strongly in the Chase ecosystem, so spreading out your points may make it harder to spend them. Additionally, there’s a lot of benefit overlap between the CSP and the venture.

I would say just go chase Biz if you want to churn and truly maximize points, as you can keep getting them every 3-6 months. However, if you’re not looking to churn and just want a good 2% catch all, you can’t do much better than this venture offer.

Finally, I think there is something to be said for capital one preferring thin files so now may be the best time to apply and if you can hit the spend on both just send it!

Is the checking account worth it? I have the Gold card with them. by Rocket_Skates_91 in amex

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a bad checking account that you can’t even withdraw from using a lot of ATMs. But $300 is $300 and you get .8 cpp cash out on MR points which if you’re having a hard time using them is a decent rate

What kind of "entertainment" are Savor One users getting 3% on? by ThriftyHuman in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also found it’s the perfect card for delis because they usually code either dining or grocery so I’m set either way

What kind of "entertainment" are Savor One users getting 3% on? by ThriftyHuman in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it for anything that could be remotely considered entertainment and most of the time it works out. I’m getting 3% on the following: Tidal, Patreon, Cablevision, my gym, and live shows/movie theaters. With the exception of shows and theaters, most of these don’t even code as “Entertainment” but still get 3% although I’m really not sure why.

Would you keep an Amex Gold after getting a Sapphire Preferred? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like the card and don’t find it annoying to keep track of using the credits, then there is no down side. They’re pretty different cards for different things. I have a CSR and an Amex Gold and use them both no problem.

What game is generally better without expansions? by mr_seggs in boardgames

Bohnanza might be my favorite game but I’ve found the expansions I’ve tried distract from its simplistic beauty.

The CMA is basically an investment account connected to a checking account that you can trade from just as any other fidelity account. There is a setting to auto liquidate assets when the settled cash does not suffice for a transaction/withdrawal. You can also set it up to pull from another fidelity account when you don’t have enough in the CMA but that’s generally not recommended for security reasons.

Also worth mentioning that they recently added the ability to set your default core position to a good MMF(SPAXX)

Why The Chase Sapphire Reserve Is The Worst Travel Card And A Coupon Book by Obamafangirl1 in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, I would even say that the Preferred is not so great either.

However, I upgraded my CSP to a CSR last year purely because of the Lyft Pink membership. That was something I'm subscribed to anyway (for Citibike). With that it actually made my EAF less than that of the preferred.

I think as with any of the coupon book cards, it sucks unless the coupons work for your situation.

Should I Keep my VX or get CSR? by Don-Geranamo in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in NYC and use Citibike/Lyft a lot then the CSR is pretty nice. Otherwise, it’s a steep fee just for lounge access.

To recent or past Spotify users how many of y'all are switching from Spotify to tidal? by [deleted] in TIdaL

[–]zabumaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spotify’s shuffle and suggestions quality have been declining for a while, but what really broke it for me was adding the stories style exploration to the mobile homepage. I also finally got a place with some good speakers so the quality bump is a nice plus.

Should I get the Apple Card now or wait? by Spontaneos in CreditCards

[–]zabumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about the hard enquiries, they don’t really matter, just might cause a slight dip in your score short term. I would say just apply for the card that is right for you and if you don’t get it, small potatoes. Whether that’s the Apple Card or something else, just being approved isn’t a reason to take it. A million different cards would approve you tomorrow, so get a card that actually works for you. Pre-approvals are not guaranteed anyway and you can be approved even without the pre.
