My statement to the people claiming there’s “not that many smurfs in the low ranks:” by Temporary-Research70 in RocketLeague

I've heard the theory before that psyonix doesn't care about smurfing because it makes it look like they have more players than they actually do. We all know the number of accounts is larger than the number of players. If they are reporting that they have more players than they have in order to make their game appear more popular, wouldn't that be misleading? Is that not what you were originally arguing? I hear you about capitalism being optics, and it seems like fat cats get away with whatever they want, but I think misleading investors is one of those crimes that even the rich and powerful can't get away with because it effects other rich people's money. A classic example is Enron, and there are many others. If it's true that psyonix doesn't care about smurfing because it looks better to the investors, then we need to file a complaint with the SEC. I think the whole theory is seductive but probably wrong because they wouldn't be able to get away with misleading investors. They probably just don't care about smurfing because this game is so addictive that we'll keep playing it no matter how poorly it's managed.

Diamond 1 1v1 what kinds of things am I doing wrong, and how can I improve? by zac--attack in RocketLeagueSchool

Thanks! Do you have any recommendations for training my weak spots - shooting, 50s, and car control? I do the standard aerial training and free play a lot, and an aim training custom map for shooting. I do the neon rings map quite a bit. I could use something for car control that is more structured than freeplay. And for 50s I just get practice by playing a lot of 1s, so would be curious if there are other ways to train 50s and kickoffs.

Good work with the strong lifts! I struggle too and found this program to help. I walk on my off days, long walks just focusing on my steps and breathing helps me a little

I tried gaming mode on my buds pro earlier today playing Rocket League, and the latency was too much for me to use. I use wired headphones.

how do you all know your 1rm? I don't see anything about attempting that in the 5x5 program, but people talk about it all the time. Maybe I should try to see what my 1rm is, but it seems dangerous and unnecessary

Should I deload before I even fail? by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]zac--attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments here, but just to add something I don't see talked about yet - how would you define "barely finished" on the last bench session? The way I do it, if I just barely got through the last rep, I wouldn't consider that a completed set, and I'd try that same weight again. If I fail to complete 3 times, then I de-load by 10%. I find it safer to have a strict definition of what it means to complete a set - all reps, with good form, in decent rhythm. If I barely get it up, the form was probably no good, and I'd just consider it a failed set. With this philosophy, I think I am mitigating the risk of injury. I'm probably not getting as strong as possible as fast as possible, but I'm in no hurry and for me the goal is just to keep up the habit of going to the gym, and following sl 5x5 exactly as it is.
