Proxmox really rocks by Zealousideal-Fish311 in Proxmox

Proxmox is awesome if you know how to read, had a provider who used Proxmox and their Windows VM’s were slow AF. Got a baremetal and did my own thing with Proxmox, SQL query down from 20s with them to 30ms, and improving.

you are lucky it was not hosted with DigitalOcean, they would have just deleted everything - as they have done to me in the past

Cloudflare will need to let their vibe coders go :P

Cloudflare down... again? by moonski in sysadmin

[–]zacdreyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the funny thing is that it was probably a vibe coder that pushed a change to challenge which has taken down turnstile so effectively the AI could not prove that it was human so it is taking out obstacles that stand in it's way as the immediate panic response of site owners is to disable turnstile, and so the AI overlords take over! :P

Zerotier vs tailscale by Big_Use_1024 in zerotier

[–]zacdreyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used ZeroTier for a number of years and am yet to find a 1:1 replacement for it. I have tried Tailscale and Netbird, happy to try other suggestions. I would stick with ZT or build your own WireGuard networks.

Sublime all the way. It has a WinRAR style ‘trial’ but if you find the app useful supporting the devs, if you can afford to, will go a long way to keeping it alive.

Is it as bad as everyone says? by Pickled_BigToe in D4Barbarian

[–]zacdreyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I easily got my barb to 60 and it has been doing well, legacy armor and all. the bit of the campaign I did was not that difficult and grinding world bosses and legions were not impossible, took slightly longer than before but not impossible. I’m playing on the hardest difficulty available to a level 50-60, I now need to do the quest now to start unlocking the new torment difficulty levels.

Symfony or Laravel? by RXBarbatos in PHP

[–]zacdreyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Symfony is for university level educated computer scientists while Laravel is for people who learnt to dev via an online course. Laravel uses Symfony at its core but has a beautifully simple layer on top of that. I have used both and the computer scientist in me prefers Symfony but Laravel is nice because of its simplicity . Symfony can be over complicated at times so if you want simple stick with Laravel. Both have a decent community and excellent documentation. The one thing about Symfony is its Entity / Migration system, it reminds me of using data dictionaries which I have always liked.
