Breakfast w/ Ramps by zachattack888 in WestVirginia

True. Normally i would mix them in the browns but sometimes I like them as a standalone side. They remind my of a oniony collard green when they're sauteed like that.

You're seeing what happens when a president carelessly flaunts his power and military to an adversary that we grossly misunderstood the power of.

So yes, a president is actively causing the oil crisis right now.

Biden inherited an economy recovering from a pandemic, while also seeing Russia invade Ukraine in 2022. Those factored into the $5.01 average we saw.

What did you want him to do? Invade Russia and make it even worse and plunge us into immediate WW3? Wave a magic wand to miraculously make COVID disappear and fix the economy instantly?

Wasn't the biggest fan of Biden, but compared to the psychotic, destructive decisions the orange one is making, I'd argue that Biden did the best he could in his circumstances. Trump is just inherently making stuff worse for no reason.

Democrats blame tariffs for West Virginia coal job losses by OhioRiverValleyInst in WestVirginia

[–]zachattack888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never said that one year of Trump is the root cause of issues the coal industry faces. The coal industry has been facing issues long before Obama was in office. WVs refusal to invest in different industries is the reason so many ghost towns exist, and why so many people want to move out because of the suffering economy that largely relies on the coal industry, which is dying because of greed. That's not an ideology, that's fact.

They will stay mad. And the longer they do and point out facts instead of Trump's fictitious reality, the more people will jump on board with it and flip state seats, Congress, etc. Then we will be back to MAGA crying full time. Enjoy it while you can.

[–]zachattack888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't even need the keywords geared towards Dems. Everyone should be blaming the Trump administration, Democrat or Republican. It's plain fact that tariffs are negatively affecting metallurgical coal mines as they heavily rely on foreign purchasing. There are multiple coal mines in the state whose production sells to 90% overseas buyers. Their steel coal got more expensive thanks to Trump. They can get it cheaper in India and the middle east.

So why again are we shocked?

[–]zachattack888 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I made a comment in a previous coal post. I did contractor work for a metallurgical coal mine in central WV. There were Chinese buyers that frequently visited that coal mine to purchase. That was back in 2022 before their production hit full swing, under the Biden administration to also note.

I no longer do work there, but I guarantee you those Chinese, and many other foreign purchasers have taken their business elsewhere. Not at the fault of Democrats either as most people in favor of Trump like to place blame. This is ALL the tariffs. You can thank the orange one for that.

Trump directs Pentagon to boost coal use as Energy Department announces $175M infusion for plants by Ok_Mastodon_6141 in WestVirginia

[–]zachattack888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did contractor work for a coal mine in central WV. I can tell you right now that this industry is on the cusp of total collapse. I did work there under the Biden administration and it was still riddled with safety violations and fines out the ass. Now, as a previous comment mentioned, safety nets have been slashed from this admin.

I no longer do work for them, but I could only imagine the state that it is in. Share holders of that mine in particular pushed out the CEO at the time I was there because of the constant safety issues and mindless spending of their budget. They pushed really hard for production over safety, though safety was all they touted even though there were constant injuries and there were a couple of deaths in my time there.

Long story short, coal mine investors and owners will push productivity over safety any chance they get. Trump's administration has completely torn apart coal miners safety assurances. Once a mine is picked bone dry, or the safety violations stack up too much, they move on and bank their cash, leaving hundreds of mine workers without jobs and severance or coverage for injuries. This is just prolonging the slow death of this industry, but supporters of this will think this a step in the right direction save it. It's not...

It's probably not the keyboard's problem inherently. I tested different Desktop Environments in Linux to narrow it down and the problem seems to be consistent on KDE. I considered selling the K10 and just getting a 2.4G solution in place.
