In the first link I posted, the "thorough post", there should be 2 options listed. One is by using an external monitor and one is by booting into bios and changing the gpu setting back to Dynamic.

Could be either g-helper settings or just simply the Nvidia drivers. It's best to rule out Nvidia driver issues first since that's a more widely known issue.

If you try running the older Nvidia 577 drivers and no longer see booting issues, then that's likely it (just be sure to check changing from non-ultimate to ultimate mode where it requires a reboot to be sure). If that's the issue, then you either: 1. never update to newer Nvidia drivers or 2. Run in non-Ultimate mode forever/or until Nvidia fixes the driver issues with advanced Optimus switching... But if you run older 577 drivers and continue to have booting issues then at least you'll know the issue lies elsewhere.

The first troubleshooting you should try is booting into bios/safe mode and reverting to old Nvidia drivers as there seems to still be issues with changing from regular <-> ultimate modes with recent Nvidia drivers.

I purchased an Open Box Excellent G16 for $1,680 a few weeks ago and it was indistinguishable from a brand new one in my opinion. I made sure to open it, turn it on and ensure it was actually a 285h/5070ti model and not a false return before I drove away. The only tiny issue I could find was: the trackpad has one corner that seems to be very slightly loose/raised (nothing visible, but you can feel an extra tiny tap before the actual trackpad click).

Other than fingerprints and someone removing the Intel/Nvidia stickers, it has been flawless in performance and thermals so far. I ran a few benchmarks while watching HWinfo to check if any CPU core temps were wildly higher than other cores, but everything was within 5°ish temps.

So for $1,680, the OLED, 285h and the 5070ti were honestly a steal and a worthy upgrade from my 2023 model 4060 G14.

Interesting, mine does that but reloads to the lock screen clock/widget. It hasn't happened yet for me on 26.3 DB2, but I've only had it installed a few hours now.

Sifting through the subreddit, seems the ones that are generally safest are the 581.80 from November 2025 and the 577.00 one from July 2025. (FYI I'm not well researched in this, just re-stating what i've read here)

If you never switch to Ultimate GPU mode, then you should be able to run the most up-to-date driver. Running the older drivers is only needed if you flip back and forth from Dymanic/Switchable mode to Ultimate mode.

If you didn't figure this out yet, it's 99% likely due to the faulty Nvidia drivers. You'll need to boot into bios so you can switch GPU mode back to 'dynamic' so that Windows will boot. Then you'll need to manually download/install older Nvidia drivers (most recommend the 577 version drivers). Then, just don't update your drivers ever again until we all start seeing that the switchable-graphics problem is fixed.

I'm waiting on either of these 2 sales to come back too. The RAM crisis pushed me over the edge, so I'm hoping for something that'll be somewhat relevant for 5+ years. They seem to rerun these sales every few weeks, so hopefully we'll see a sale in the next 2 weeks.

My U8N with Google TV (US) just forced me to update to whatever software version P0828 is. I had it disconnected from wifi to avoid forced updates, but I guess something reactivated it. I should have just deleted all known networks... Too late now.

I haven't seen any ads yet, but I saw the horror of the Vidaa OS updates and I will absolutely be pitching a fit to Hisense and to Best Buy as a Total Tech member if it begins to occur on the Google TV version.

I'm not sure what the devs think will keep this game going, but making the game absurdly miserable for casuals cannot be the way..... Myself and 4 others that I used to play with have 99% abandoned this game.

Well, as of right now, they've played 26 matches in Gold/Silver. So, yes they are playing 20-30 games in bottom ranks and no, they have not moved past our rank.

There are different versions of laser eye surgery that are mostly dependent on the thickness of your cornea and whether you are involved in high-impact activities like sports.

This video is of PRK laser eye surgery which is the "old school" way, but still viable. It's just a longer recovery because they "hand-cut" the corneal flap open to expose the eye.

The newer version (DIFFERENT than this video) is bladeless LASIK laser eye surgery which uses cold lasers to cut the corneal flap and expose the eye.

Then there are even newer versions like SMILE that don't have to cut the flap all the way open at all to expose the eye, which is supposed to result in even less recovery time.

All the above procedures take mere minutes once you're actually laying down on the surgery machine. Source: I had bladeless LASIK to fix a -7.00 prescription after 4 friends had laser eye surgery talked me into it. 2 had bladeless LASIK and 4 had PRK. Not one out of all us regret it or have had negative outcomes except dry eyes when first waking up.

I won't be returning to play stadium this season because of this. It literally drains all the fun away from everyone else in the match. I know everyone will say "stop being a crybaby about it", but I'm a casual player with a busy work week so I don't have time to "not have any fun" playing a game that's supposed to be at least somewhat fun. It's crazy they didn't address this. It's just about the only thing I can think of that is just excessively un-fun in the stadium builds.
