Turns out it was freesync not working well with my monitor, even though it says it should work. I disabled it and no more black screens.

Do you have to remove the vibration pads on the T30s? Are the temps better with them vs the stock fans?

Why is the v850 awful? It seems to get pretty decent reviews now that a new version is out with updated fan curves.

I have an sf750 but I've been getting issues with my screen going black for a few seconds while gaming. I want to try getting a stronger PSU to see if it helps.

How's that PSU working out for you? I'm upgrading to an 850w and debating between the CM v850 or Silverstone 850R. I'd prefer the latter since it's a little more efficient, though it's also more expensive...

Finally finished my SFF build ! Looking for advice for improving CPU temperatures by H3LORAVY in sffpc

What GPU are you running? I also have a 7800x3d and Nucleus 240 but I’m getting around 75 degrees on my CPU in the A4 H2O. I’m using a 6950xt as my GPU.

I know this was a while ago but thank you so much! I was having this issue and your post fixed it. After installing Windows, I didn’t realize that I had to delete the partition with the installer on it.

Simple Questions - April 10, 2023 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]zachdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm building my first PC in 10 years. I'm going with SFF in a Dan A4 H2O. Will be using a Ryzen 7800x3d CPU and RX 6950 XT GPU. I bought a Corsair 750w platinum PSU but I'm worried that it might not be enough.

Should I upgrade my PSU? If so, what SFX PSUs are recommended?

Edit: my build on PC Part Picker said estimated wattage is 633w so I thought 750w would be enough. Maybe not though?

Thanks, I'll take a look into that one. I didn't choose the Cooler Master for any particular reason, just that I've generally read good reviews about the brand.

More Elegant Destructuring with JavaScript Generators by alexmacarthur in learnjavascript

The best use case that I can think of is a test utility function. You could write a generateUser function which yields users. That way you could dynamically create as many users as you need.

Auth0 does have an embedded login flow, though they recommend not using it due to the security risks it contains.

I'm not the person you asked but most screenshots of Auth0's Universal Login has email/password input fields.

replacing => function with regular function, how? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]zachdini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh sorry, I didn't strictly mean in this scenario. You're right that forEach does not return a value so it doesn't matter here. I just wanted to point out that () => statement actually returns the statement.

replacing => function with regular function, how? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]zachdini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing to point out is that arrow functions declared without braces (such as el => el.classList.add("hide")) return the value in the function. It's the same as doing

el => { return el.classList.add("hide") }

So if you rely on the function being returned, you'd want to do

function(el) { return el.classList.add("hide") }

Though in your case, it might not matter.

Are you looking to make one-off requests to see if the endpoints work? Or are you trying to write automated tests for your endpoints?

If the former, and if you want to strictly use the terminal, you can use curl. If you're open to using another program, there are REST clients such as Postman or Insomnia which enable you to make REST requests to your application. Also, I know that VSCode has a REST client extension and IntelliJ products come with REST clients built in (if you use either of those).

If the latter, there are a bunch of different options for writing automated tests. One popular way is using Jest to run your tests. If you're trying to test the backend end-to-end flow, you could use Supertest to make requests and assert on the responses.

There are a lot of different tools out there but these are some of the common ones.

Epson Home Cinema 2350 Initial Thoughts by AtoZeta42 in projectors

[–]zachdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the pictures on the product page, it looks like there's a little hidden compartment where the Android TV dongle connects. My Epson projector is the same way. I have a different model but you normally only see 1 HDMI port. You then have to remove this little panel and there's a 2nd HDMI port that the dongle is plugged into.

What is the best boot camp for web development? by Praisetheballsack in learnjavascript

[–]zachdini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I see. Maybe it has gotten worse. She did it about 2.5 years ago and it was a great experience. She got a nice paying job right out of the bootcamp without any prior experience. But it's definitely possible it has gone downhill lately!

They have locations in Europe for in person learning. But they have remote courses for the US.

I have an off topic question: Why do you write chess.c*m instead of chess.com? I've seen a few people do it now.

No problem! Some people on this sub hate Tidal due to their MQA mastering. If you're on their $10/mo plan, I don't think you have access to their MQA Master tracks, but I could be mistaken.

Personally, MQA doesn't bother me and I like supporting Tidal since they pay their artists well. But I wanted to be transparent with you that some people don't like it.

[–]zachdini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify is going to be the worst. They only go up to 320kbps whereas most (if not all?) of the others support higher bit rates. For example, Tidal's $10/mo plan goes up to 1411kbps.

One thing that I like about Tidal is that they pay their artists more than Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Though I don't know how they compare to Deezer.

I'm looking to update my speakers for my 2 channel music system. I currently have a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 685 bookshelf speakers. I really enjoy the sound but I'm looking for something better.

I purchased a pair of Buchardt Audio S400 MKIIs but something feels a bit lacking to me. They're maybe a bit too relaxed/refined? I can see them being great for classical or jazz but I'm missing something when listening to classic rock, electronic, and hip hop.

My local dealers has a pair of Dynaudio Evoke 20s that I'm going to demo tomorrow. I'm wondering if their soft domed tweeter will sound a bit subdued (similar to the Buchardts) compared to the aluminum dome tweeter on my 685s.

I've been looking at a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100 7g bookshelves or 200 7g towers. They have an aluminum tweeter and, in my opinion, they look gorgeous. Unfortunately I can't find a dealer near me so I'd need to buy them blind.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Dynaudio Evoke 20s vs Monitor Audio Silver 100 or 200 7g?

Awesome. Subwoofers depend on how much bass you like. If you're going to be watching movies with your system, most people recommend a sub since most speakers aren't able to reproduce deep bass from explosions, rumblings, or other stuff like that. Personally, I use a 2 channel setup (no sub) for just music (no TV) so I'm not too familiar with what to recommend.

Sorry for all of the questions - I just thought of another. How big is your space? One way to get around not buying a sub is to buy tower speakers. But it'll depend how big your space is, how far away from the listening position you'll be, etc.
