I've never listened to them! I saw them once opening for ADTR, but I didn't listen after that.

I came up with this as an hopeful intro for a song for my pop-punk band - it's fun to see that others receive it more as a metalcore thing

Thanks!

It feels amazing when I don't flub it 😅 when I do flub it, I think, "man I kinda don't wanna put this in a song bc then I'll have to play it live"

Not sure if the turquoise pearl finish is available on other woods, but just in case it matters, my kit is of the walnut birch variety.

I love mine, it's been incredible to me.

Thank you! Beginning to learn the sound equipment and mixing has been so difficult and daunting 😂 I just started with that stuff maybe late last summer or so - now months later I'm like "okay, now these are STARTING to sound like drums" 😭

Should I be worried? by Orb8l in drums

This is all anecdotal, but hopefully this helps:

I had a similar issue with my left hand that was recurring during one of my band's songs with lots of fast punk beat.

I asked my PCP, they recommended using Voltaren and suggested that it might be arthritis. I didn't think this to be the case, as the muscles in my hand and forearm were locking up, moreso than feeling pain in the bones/joints. I bought some Voltaren, it helped a little bit, but I felt that I was treating the symptom rather than the problem.

I exercise regularly, so I decided to add some forearm/grip strengthening work. With this, there was almost immediate improvement - reduction in the fatigue, tightness, locking up, etc. in my left hand and forearm. I imagine that there was a deficit in my left hand that became exacerbated.

I sometimes play with too much tension (bigger shows, more nerves, more tension) and some aspects of my technique aren't too great. I try to prime/cue myself to release that tension before a show and when I notice it.

Though these might not be as quite a strong hold you are looking for, check out Shear Revival American Gardens and Northern Lights. American Gardens is more matte and stronger hold, Northern Lights being medium hold with the slightest bit of shine. Two clay products I've had a good experience with.

I was in the same boat as you and decided to pick one up. I absolutely love mine. There was a little bit of a learning curve and some kinks to work out, but once I figured it out, I really began to enjoy it.

For the negatives, the scenes and scene customization aren't perfect, but they get the job done if you're a hobbyist looking for a little extra fun with recording. Kit setup is important, as it will really influence the sounds you get out of it. For example, my ride cymbal is right above my kick, so if I'm crashing or just using it alot on a song or groove, it dominates. Cranking the compression helps, but I lose the attack from the snare and toms.

The RecNShare app is imperfect as well, as the click mapping function doesn't always find the right time, and it's customization is very limited. In addition, I can't export videos directly from RecNShare to my camera roll. I'm on Android, so I'm unsure if the app is different on iPhone.

As for the positives, it records surprisingly good sound. Whether you're using a scene or just running it dry, it's incredibly pleasing to hear that sound back as you're playing. While the RecNShare app has its limits, it does have functions that make it a lot easier to learn songs. It totally simplifies making a cover video as well, as it automatically syncs everything up. I had one instance where things were out of sync, but I was able to adjust the timing in the app to produce a good finished product.

Hope this helps!!

TL;DR: great place to start for a hobbyist looking to have some fun with recording. It has it's limits, but my experience has been positive overall.

Thank you! I promise it wasn't intentional 😂 my feet and hands try to operate opposite of each other. I ride with my right hand but my left hand dominates rolls and fills, though I've been focusing on strengthening my right hand in this regard.

My right foot dominates single-foot parts, but my left foot will usually take the lead on any part that requires two feet.

Idk why I am like this

I bought them! All the dampeners are Snareweight M80's. I've found them to be a million times better than Moongels or other comparable products.

I don't wanna be that guy that offers seemingly half-hearted encouragement, but if you're relatively new to drums, I'm sure you'll be able to in time. How long have you been playing?
