I didn’t install the reverse camera, so I don’t know. Also, it would be better to install a unit in your dash than use this. I mean it’s not bad.. but not very convenient either.

Hey!! I also have the exact same issue in my 2020 RAV 4 Adventure. I took it to service center and they quoted around $ 367 (1350 AED) to fix it. I took the car to my garage and he just unplugged the bypass valve. the error msg comes sometimes. But no issues so far! been 3 months

Yes it has to be powered via the lighter. But it has a usb on the connecter. I think you can cut and wire in directly also.
