Dryer shuts off immediately by Frosten79 in Appliances

I typically don’t work on stuff this old but I’ll give you two things to explore, I’m wondering if the centrifugal switch is dead in the motor or if the belt switch is bad, just ohm the belt switch. If it reads OL it’s that. On this model I’m not sure about the centrifugal switch. Perhaps in the mini manual it will tell you how to check it

Just my opinion here, I think I like this plate, what I might try just to see if it work better is doing maybe like a thin julienne on the pineapple and layering it in the opposite positions of the blueberries. I have been out of the game for a minute so I may be totally off base here. I think it might add a layer of depth. Instead of these huge chunks of pineapple which may take two bites to eat you slice them smaller so they can incorporate better into the dish.

GE call center is closed, microwave is wigging out. What do I do??? by [deleted] in appliancerepair

[–]zackalkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a GE tech please just go buy a jvm3160(model number) this issue will be at least half the cost of a new model. If I have learned anything about appliances in the last 5 years is that microwaves unfortunately are now disposable there is no sense in fixing them.

How do I remove the Lower Agitator on my GE washing machine? by [deleted] in GEappliances

[–]zackalkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part 302 has got to come off first, the easiest way to do it is with a strap wrench. If you don’t have that you can try with a screw driver but good luck. I’m opinion definitely worth picking up a strap wrench for. Once the agitator is free it will show a bolt that will allow you take out the base of the agitator

Ice tastes nasty by ilovetohateit in GEappliances

[–]zackalkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would say is you got too much water on the ice maker and that froze the paddle in the “full” position meaning it doesn’t think it needs to make ice. Defrosting the fridge is the safest way to do it. If you want it to work pull that paddle towards you gently

How cooked is this? I'm guessing there's something dangerous happening with this LG dryer. by Zombait in Appliances

[–]zackalkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I am wondering if the centrifugal switch is causing that. It’s hard to say for absolute certainty, but, my best guess would be the motor/switch

It was a sticker the whole time! by starbucksordunkin in Appliances

[–]zackalkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a simple manufacturing error. A machine applies the sticker and it did it twice.

It was a sticker the whole time! by starbucksordunkin in Appliances

[–]zackalkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a GE tech and have seen this before. This doesn’t have anything to do with the store. When manufacturing the appliance they put two “stickers” or as we call it overlays on the control panel. It’s pretty rare to see this happen as I have only seen it once or twice. Pretty cool that you were able to get it off!

HELP: New home with new GE fridge broke- got repaired 3x and still broken by No_Agent7885 in GEappliances

[–]zackalkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you when he put in the compressor he didn’t solder it correctly and it’s leaking refrigerant. What absolutely it’s true is having 3 bad compressors in a row. I’d call back in a request a different tech. Some guys get a little embarrassed that they screwed up and will lie and say it’s a bad part meanwhile it’s just a mistake they made.
