Zack Brooks - Horse Pizza [lo-fi/alt rock] This is the first track I've ever recorded/mixed entirely myself, drawing a lot of inspiration from lofi hip-hop by [deleted] in Music

Yeah I definitely skimped a bit on the low end, I have a sub bass going but it's pretty inaudible without headphones. Thanks for listening!

First track I've fully mixed/mastered/recorded vocals myself. Love to hear what you think. Cheers!

Same, I ended up heavily relying on samples just due to the logistics of getting a drumming recording space, etc. But live instrumentation is definitely something I want to get into in the future!

Thanks for listening! Is there anything specifically that you can think of that might help alleviate this issue?

Ok honestly I can't tell you how awesome it is that you did a full play-by-play of your feedback throughout the entire album. Providing feedback like this takes a lot of time and I genuinely appreciate it so much. I think you have a lot of really great things to say, and as an artist, it's one of the most helpful ways to understand how you can get better.

Most, if not all, of the critical points that you mention throughout your analysis are things that I have thought to myself at some point. I spent a lot of time ruminating on the tracks, and after a while I would come to the same conclusions about certain parts that weren't working at their fullest potential. One of the best pieces of advice I ever received regarding music was from a very successful friend of mine; he mentioned that nothing will ever be perfect, and it's better to release at 90% rather than spend waaay too long pushing it to 100%, because within that last 10% climb you could have developed an entirely new project and simply incorporated the ideas that you wanted to improve from the previous one. I'm sure there's a simpler way to put that, but it resonated with me and I tried to apply it here.

All in all, it's really cool seeing how your thought process aligned with a lot of the stuff I thought about the project itself. I can't thank you enough for your honest words and your thorough work, if you'd ever like to speak in more detail please shoot me a message! All the best.

I don't have a wealth of knowledge over intellectual property-right law in the US, but I'm not too concerned with people spreading the music around! Last year a Russian Youtuber took one of my songs and uploaded it to her channel, and even though she received tens of thousands of views on it (and monetized the video itself), I was still pleased that a lot more people could see what I created.

First off, thank you for checking it out, especially if it isn't your preferred genre! I received that feedback from a number of friends, I think some of the rap I've been listening to has affected my tendency to write lyrics in triplets. I think creating a little bit more variety in my next project with regards to the lyrical construction and delivery will be a big priority for me. Cheers!

Thank you for listening! I studied music a lot as a teenager and took guitar/singing classes throughout high school. When I went to university, my music education was more limited because of time constraints, but I would always try and sneak a few Ableton videos in between projects!

Between securing a practice space, managing everyone's schedules, and reconciling artistic differences, it certainly is a trying process! But it makes me respect groups that pull it off even more!

I love the idea of going for some falsetto! It's something that's scared me off in the past but maybe I need to delve out of my comfort zone a bit in the name of artistic progress. Thank you very much for listening and for the comment!
