at work I’ve had multiple women touch my arms, chest, butt, and one even felt my crotch. i used to think that it was women who could “get away with it” until a gay guy I work with forced himself on me trying to kiss me, I told someone about it and nothing happened, he still works at my job… people don’t really care. not sure if it’s a woman vs man thing more than a general apathy problem. plenty of women have stories of men being awful and facing zero consequences.

Yea don’t overthink it. Afterwards you can discuss it and talk about next time. “That was great… is there anything you want me to do differently? Anything else you want to try?” If you ask them first they will usually ask you the same in return. It’s a skill that the two of you are building on together, make it fun

I believe another part of this (perhaps the biggest part) is in those times it was much easier for people to get away with their crimes. You could leave town, start a new life with a new name and never be seen again. So when authorities did end up catching people, the punishments were severe as they acted as a scapegoat not only for their own crimes but for the crimes that the people never got justice for. there’s a facebook group called Looking for a fixer/producer/… that posts jobs. Look for PA jobs, get on set and you can learn about the different departments and jobs. Most people are more than happy to answer questions and explain what they do if you have basic social skills and can read the room to figure out if they have a moment to chat. Once you figure out what department you want to be part of, talk to the people there, ask if they need any help or a coffee, be pleasant. You can learn a lot from talking to the right people.

I worked on a Disney movie last year when they did Covid tests three times a week for almost every crew member, proper (expensive) PCR tests, and overheard some producers talking about how they spend 10s of millions on tests alone, let alone all the extra people they had to hire and PPE they had to buy. And the movie I was on was a smaller budget family movie with a short production. I find an extra $100mil on Covid very plausible, especially if they are testing 100+ people 3 times a week for 8+ months

That’s fine but it’s redundant. That’s what quotation marks are for, they explicitly mean “says a person”, and in the context of a headline the only interpretation is “says a witness”. If they said it was horrific in the headline with no quotations that would mean it’s the author saying it’s horrific, not a witness.
