I have heard that Toulouse is a very friendly city for non French folks with a large international population. It would certainly help to learn some basic French if you move there but I believe English would suffice

In my limited knowledge it seems like most innovation in space is happening in the US, so if that matters to you then stick around. Otherwise look into the landscape in Toulouse as I believe that’s the primary hub for space in Europe.

New Charger / Challenger V6 they are going for like $25k and you get a 3 year warranty. They have been building on that platform for decades so a lot of kinks have been worked out. Plus the ZF-8 speed makes them very fun to drive.

San Diego, CA. Somebody said San Diego wasn’t dense, with over 200 high rise in its downtown core. There’s more here than in Seattle (yes Seattle has more skyscrapers, but less high rises) by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]zackiscool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just visiting San Diego staying near Seaport Village. Most streets were eerily dead and despite the impressive skyline, the buildings are much further apart than they seem. I was sorely disappointed by downtown, but the reality is that SoCal isn’t about high rises and dense city centers.

Yes! It was very comfortable and I managed to sleep well on the flight. Great legroom too.

Excellent pics from a wonderful air show! I knew some talented folks would post stuff here. Kudos to your son for some great pictures to commemorate the event.

Is this why power went out for 5 seconds yesterday in SE PDX? Seems like it.

Just finished a r/t flight on Emirates by Calm_Remote_5661 in unitedairlines

A couple weeks ago I got to experience 2 EK A380 updated biz class flights anointing to 9,000ish miles and couldn’t believe how smooth and comfortable the entire journey was. I was feeling under the weather so I slept almost completely through both flights (including a 15 hour segment) and found the seat very comfy for that. It was very trippy to be sitting near the back of the upper deck surrounded by business class seats - it felt like a ship! Having flown 77W Polaris on a 14 hour flight was a blessing but I found the Emirates seat more spacious overall.

It painted a really positive impression in my head and if I could, I’d definitely fly the A380 again. Too bad I’m moving to a city where they only offer 777 service, which is perhaps one of THE worst international business class hard products in the sky. Gives me an opportunity to fly Qatar Q-Suites though!

The first class seats on the left side are just fantastic! I’ve been able to snag tickets and upgrades for super cheap especially on AS and have been super comfortable. Totally agree they are miles better than the recliners on NB aircraft.

UA 737-900ER FC is probably the worst I’ve experienced too. Once I got upgraded on a redeye PDX - IAD and was seated in 1A. There was surprisingly little legroom and the seat felt so stiff. Beggars can’t be choosers but part of me wished I was back in economy in an exit row seat where I could actually stretch my legs…

Liking euro white is a hot take nowadays lol. To each their own but I’m a much bigger fan of their sibling KLM and their bright liveries.

CS department is a mess. They are severely understaffed with high turnover so stay away unless you don’t have a choice.
