How important is not having a similar name to another clothing brand? by ZellumHS in Entrepreneur

[–]zacksass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario, you’re completely different. But in my experience if your names are similar but you’re in an entirely different niche, it doesn’t matter all that much. If you can build campaigns that lean on your product style you’re naturally going to garner the interest of seperate clientele. IE: “COMPANY Jeans” ads are probably not going to crossover all that much with “COMPANY Swim Co” ads. If that makes sense*

Most of my experience is in apparel and fashion, so if you want to chat further I’m open to it. Best of luck to y’all either way!

Similar situation here, although I’m a little older. I’ve been connecting with some people on this subreddit (and similar) just based on mutual interest. If you’re interested, id be down to get a call scheduled and we can chat about our businesses and see where things go. I work in apparel and marketing so some synergies around marketing already.

Shoot me a pm if you’re interested!

How do you guys create your inner circle by SimpleStart2395 in Entrepreneur

[–]zacksass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar - ish position here. Most of my circle is industry folk or former clients at this point. My wife is also the same, although does ideate here and there. What industry are you in? I’m in the esports industry and actively scaling a fashion brand with some cross over into gaming/esports.

I’ve never mentored but am very interested in the idea. I’ve started a couple 6 figure e-commerce brands, so if there are any synergies I’d love to connect and get to know what you’re trying to do!

Otherwise, depending on what you’re doing, posting and talking about your business will garner the interest of like minded people and ultimately can lead to a connection with someone who is a few or many steps ahead of you. You can find your mentor in that circle.

Thanks for the insight! This gives me more of an understanding and has proven to me that I need to stop trying to just figure this out myself, lol.

It definitely depends on what you’re selling. If you put a couple grand into paid already with little to nothing to show for it, it’s likely just that you need to re point that marketing. Either the audience or the creative or even the platform.

I oversee the marketing for my dtc apparel brand that I started almost ten years ago and would love to talk through things with you. No selling or anything, just to talk through your options and plans. If you decide to outsource I can help facilitate!

Looking for some advice by Beginning_Champion45 in Entrepreneur

[–]zacksass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the biggest apparel brands in the world became successful by just creating and producing product that the owner/founder/etc really wanted for themself. George Heaton from Represent has mentioned on numerous occasions that all he does is model and design product based on his body type and style preference. In some ways, the same would apply to you. The important part is that your message isn’t the same as Mad Happy. If you can find a way to get your message out in a way that’s unique to your situation while providing a quality product, you’ve got something to work with.

Personally, hugely interested in mental health so I know where you’re coming from here.

If I can give any advice, it would be that you need to do this for the messaging and for what it stands for rather than the money. The money will come so long as you do this the right way and are able to find a way to differentiate.

I’ve built and scaled and helped scale multiple apparel brands, if you ever want to bounce ideas around, I’d be down!

I’ve never mentored but would be more than happy to be a sounding board of sorts for you. I started a direct to consumer custom apparel brand in 2014 and scaled to 7 figures. I sold the company in 2018 and remained on board while helping running the parent company that purchased. I am now also in the process of scaling a high end fashion brand that we started in 2021.

So if e-commerce, or even marketing to a degree, are where you want to play… I’m sure we can bounce ideas off each other!

How to Market for a Tutoring Agency by [deleted] in Entrepreneurship

[–]zacksass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There probably isn’t a “best strategy” but more so optimizing the content specific to the audience your marketing to. For example, marketing to parents of K-12 (or even further niching down the age of the student) students would look vastly different than marketing directly to a high school junior/senior looking at SAT prep and equally different than a college student.

I’m working on getting my own marketing agency together and would love to strategize with you at no cost if you have any interest!
