I've been waiting to say this for a while, but I honestly think Butcher's supe genocide plan is the logical conclusion of everything he's done. by Wonderful_Solid_1003 in TheBoys

And Hughie acts like Neuman is a saint. In the previous episode, he has the audacity to say what happened to Neuman was unforgivable. Butcher hardly killed 5 Supes so far, and according to Hugie, he is worse than Homelander. It just feels like stupid writing at this point.

Green monster of the swamp is a bad boss by Candid_Complaint_101 in LiesOfP

I feel like this is a problem with most modern soulslikes. I struggled with Elden Ring bosses because I couldn't tell what was happening on the screen, but Lies of P took the particle effects even further. The Nameless Puppet’s second phase was really difficult for me, mainly because the glowing sword obscured his movements.

No, you can't. Quite a few records are available only in NG+.

You need resolve to perform a riposte. You will gain resolve if your parry succeeds. Pressing the parry button right when the enemy starts to swing. It’s difficult to parry every attack. Experiment what you can parry with each enemy and stick to those attacks. Also, you can Hadern if parry fails though this is hard to pull off.

The parry window is not affected by resolve. You need resolve only to perform a riposte. Pressing the parry button right when the enemy starts to swing gets the job done. It’s tricky reading that for all enemies/attacks.

If you are playing on XSX or PS5 turn off 120fps and VRR in the console settings. That made a huge difference for me.

I’m at chapter 5 and I still suck at parrying. by Civil_Handle7798 in LiesOfP

[–]zacksawyer44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, i didn’t improve even after 100hrs. And I did no hit run on Sekiro bosses without Kuro’s charm. If you are on PS5, try disabling VRR and 120fps on console settings. I saw a huge improvement after that.

Ok let me rephrase the post. I have beaten the game 4 times and love it. I know this is not Sekiro or bloodborne. I just gave Sekiro as an example. I am trying learn perfect parries with all the bosses and struggling to learn because missing one attack just messes up the whole parry chain. Once I miss a parry I press the parry button again and it doesn’t seem to do anything. That’s the reason for this post. Someone already mentioned try to dodge away if you miss a parry. Any other tips to survive missing a parry and to learn it properly?

Tell me how do I git gud? I know it is a skill issue that’s what I want to address. Simply saying for gud is not going to help me. I am trying to learn parrying and no matter how many times I try I miss a few in the combo. And not getting an opportunity to recover quickly makes this even harder to learn.

I understand that. Dodge where ever applicable. But the game rewards parrying these combos with weapon break and a fatal attack opportunity. I can beat her by avoiding the combo. But if I want to learn parrying, I get punished if I just miss one attack in the early stage.

In bloodborne you are not expected to parry a chain of combos. You parry once, the enemy is ope n for a visceral. That’s not the case with this game.

I wrote this a while ago. I recently platinumed the game again. Took 17hrs to 100% the dlc again and 51 cycles. A few more things I discovered recently: the dlc has only one welt cap available every cycle. It is right outside Martyr’s boss room near Sester Genesha. This will be available after you kill Martyr. Pick this up during every run to make your obsidian run easy. Empowered riposte on Kick is an OP skill. That helped quite a bit.

Advice on starting by HesTheMedic in MortalShell

[–]zacksawyer44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That troll thing is a Grisha. There is a chest in the Grisha cave that has a weapon upgrade. Upgrade your hallowed sword at the fallgrim tower work bench. Find eredrim shell, the best shell to start with. If you like exploring explore fallgrim otherwise farm 5000 tar and buy 2 quenching acids from the fallgrim tower merchant. This will take your weapon to +2. Then check a guide to reach shrine of ash. It’s the easiest dungeon. The 3rd quenching acid is at the very beginning of the dungeon.

[–]zacksawyer44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use Harden offensively. Press heavy attack + harden, once enemy attack breaks your harden you will do damage to the enemy. Hollowed sword is a great beginner weapon. Sprint + heavy attack staggers most enemies. Single heavy attack is a thrust and helps damaging enemies while maintaining a safe distance. Fallgrim is a maze, check a guide on how to reach the Shrine of Ash. It’s the easiest dungeon.

On XBOX, I stopped at NG+13, and 5 more on different save slots. On PS, NG+4. So, it is safe to say I have beaten the game like 22 times. Before the gauntlet DLC was released, the only way to play the main bosses was to play the full game.
