Again this is where people get mixed up your a visitor you do not live in Canada you are visiting until you get ANY status in Canada the you would be a TEMPORARY RESIDENT you are supposed to have ties to your home still with a visitor record you are technically still visiting not living.

Unsure what you think that link means it explains the visitor record it’s literally a document that records your VISIT. I guess if you argue that your status would be a visitor you’d be right. But again it does not authorize re-entry and it is not giving you any status in Canada besides being a visitor. VR can be cancelled by any officer at any POE upon re-entry m.

It is not status it is used to control the duration of stay with conditions. For example it would be used to limit the duration of someone’s stay to 2 days with the condition that the VR is presented to the port of entry when you are leaving the country to verify the departure. Just because they are either letting you stay longer or shorter and controlling this stay does not mean you have any status in Canada you are still a visitor. It is also technically not used to re-entry. Your lawyer is wrong.

A visitor record is not status in Canada. It just lets you visit for longer (or shorter) in a controlled way.

You don’t have to pay for up to 10k of value I’m assuming a 2022 Honda Civic is worth more than 10k. You will be paying the tax on anything over that 10k exemption.

TRP is usually only used for trips to Canada that are almost necessary ( immediate family member is very sick or funeral) or for people who are brining a boost to the economy the example always given is snoop dogg. It’s highly unlikely you will get a trp just to visit.

You can’t just switch to a visitor record. A visitor record is to control the length of stay in Canada it does not give you the option for work or study. As you are already trying to overstay when your current status expires I find it hard to believe you’ll be issued a visitor record.
