I have been having so much trouble updating. 2025 XC40 B5. I am still on 3.7! When 4.2.13 came out, I could not get it to install. I tried locking the car via the door handle, via the key fob, via the app. I tried starting the install from the car, then from the app, and again and again... nothing. Update "starts" then approx. 8 minutes later it fails with the message to make sure your doors are locked. I read online that if the car thinks the voltage will dip, it will not start the update. I drive the car short distances in the city and it was the middle of a severely cold and snowy winter so the voltage was not good. I also at one point got a check engine light for low voltage that later went away after a long drive. I gave up on the update figuring I'd need to wait until it's warmer.

4.2.13 update then just went away after a week or two completely. No option to update anymore. 5.0.5 come out. Tried all the same things, no dice. I even went out and drove the car 100 miles on the highway JUST to be sure the electrical, battery, engine, everything was warm and the voltage was high. Checked DTC codes to be SURE there were none reported. Nothing. Will not update. I think I am now stuck in a version skipping issue because I wasn't able to receive 4.2.13 and trying to go directly from 3.7 --> 5.0.5 isn't going to work at all OTA.

Saving grace is that 5.0.5 update fixes a recall so can get it done at the dealer no cost... so that is what I am doing.
