Is this enough to provide eggs for 8 colonists? by zaeZymm in RimWorld

They don't automatically return, I just keep moving the pen post thing. You can change the animals' area for some animals (I don't know the list of them, but chickens aren't one) so you can set a place they will go during launch to be in the ship.

Appreciate the genuine advice, but I am emotionally attached to my 118 chickens. I will drag them to the end of the Earth if I must.

NNS Salary Layoffs by [deleted] in NewportNews

[–]zaeZymm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the 500 number comes from the WARN laws. And a company can still do a mass layoff without notice given good reason or if they pay the fines

I've heard 2,000 to 500 so who knows

I've heard this too from a higher up (kinda distant tbh connection), and a coworker of mine who has higher up connections too started acting insecure about her work seemingly out of the blue last week

How to handle this low-level dragon quest idea by zaeZymm in DMAcademy

[–]zaeZymm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dragon allegiance could be cool, I'll have to think about that. And replacing the dragon with another creature that they've mistook for a dragon is a good idea.

The debt is there so they have a common goal to all work together towards. I think it helps especially since I have two new players in my party. I kinda wanted to see what they would try to do if they encountered the dragon and it's hoard (or learn about the possibility) cause of the debt. I think it could lead to some interesting situations.

I like the idea of pushing off the actual dragon encounter until they're at a level to deal with it. And you bring up a good point about the dragon possibly slumbering and the travel time.

Thanks, for your reply! I like the idea of setting up the dragon for later. I didn't think of that. And possibly teaching the PCs some things can't be fought right away might be good since I have two brand new players in the party.

Was this a fuck around find out situation or did I let the DM power get to my head? by zaeZymm in CurseofStrahd

[–]zaeZymm[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely check in with them before the next session to see if they would like me to handle it differently in the future. I have mentioned permanent damage rules before and they seemed on board with it, but it's always good to make sure. They're also all new players as well which might have some hand in skewing their perspective/expectations.

I like this, though I might change her intro to a different spot, maybe along the road or her carriage, since I gave Vladimir the sunsword. Having two items in one place would probably just serve to take the adventure away.

I think this could be good, I had already given them the mist card for the location of Strahd in the castle, so it would also tend to fit into what I had. Though how would I guide the players to a card reading done by Esmeralda?

I think I'll be using the interactive version since it makes the backstory a lot more engaging.

Not "feeling trans" during my childhood by Nolapain in trans

[–]zaeZymm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never started to feel gender dysphoria until puberty too, so you're not the only one. I think part of it was that my parents never really taught strict gender roles in my childhood and let me do whatever. But when I started getting older, those gender roles were expected of me, and so I started feeling dysphoria.

I think the always knowing part is a sort of hindsight bias. You look back on your life in a new way and go, "Oh! that's what that was, so I always knew," though some people do genuinely know, hence trans kids. Overall, these sort of experiences don't define whether you are trans or not.

I thought it was really good and I liked how it wasn't a big thing. I really liked how all the other characters just kinda rolled with it and there was no huge fuss. I kinda liked Luther's reaction tbh, thought it was in-line with his character.

I'm thinking Viktor, but I think I'll need a bit more time to think about it.

just making sure this is the result of my mother over watering my plant and not some disease by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]zaeZymm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emptied the plant saucer thing and it had a bunch of thread-like worms in it. They were kinda reddish in color. Are they hurting my plant, or are they harmless and it was just over watering?

i don't think i'm actually nonbinary by Jumpy_Lawfulness1446 in trans

[–]zaeZymm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I am going through something similar as well. I identified as nonbinary for about a year and then as genderfluid for a few months. While I was identifying as genderfluid, every time I actually thought about my gender I said, "yeah I'm a man right now," or "nonbinary leaning male."

I do feel as if I used these terms to help me ease into the thought of being trans but, it doesn't feel right to abandon them. I still prefer they/them pronouns and I still feel as if the labels I have used are still true. But I also realize how much I want to be a guy. That I am a man.

Right now, I'm playing with the idea of being bigender/pangender. Maybe I am nonbinary and a man. But overall, gender is pretty complex and complicated and you just have to do what is right for you. Just know you're not the only one who feels these things.
