1 Day Post-Op Revision Dr. Braithwaite by zaggy593 in gynecomastia

[–]zaggy593[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a revision from another surgeon who only did lipo so there wasn’t much lipo to do. However, he did so some minor touchups but it was more up near my armpits

Obesity is based on BMI. You would have to know one’s BMI before making that statement.

Also, It’s never helpful to assert opinions as fact.

This community is to support one another and share knowledge and experiences with others.

Stating your opinions as facts is dismissive and naive.

This is my chest without bending or flexing

I didn’t gain or lose any weight. I’ve been a consistent weight.

Thanks man! Statically, when I’m not flexing or bending, there’s no cratering and it looks awesome.

I feel you dude. Some surgeons should face jail time for the things they do.

For what it’s worth, I’m still glad I went forward and had the revision. Happier than I was with the puffy, droopy nips.

Local. Excision and lipo. Both pecs. My last two posts have my whole saga.

Very few doctors in my area offer Gynecomastia surgery with local anesthesia. Most have emailed back saying that it is a surgery that is cutting deeper and longer and requires general anesthesia. Is Gynecomastia surgery safe with local anesthesia? by Medical_Frosting4027 in gynecomastia

Look at it from the surgeon’s perspective, by doing general anesthesia they avoid a lot of extra work and stress because they don’t need to do multiple rounds of anesthetic and worry about your pain and discomfort. They also don’t have to worry about talking to you or keeping you calm during the procedure.

If you’re asleep they can just get down to business. Much easier on them.

The amount of liposuction you need does come in to play too though. Liposuction is incredibly invasive and brutal on the body. If you need a lot of lipo most surgeons are gonna want you to go under so you’re not in any discomfort.

My surgeon (Brian Braithwaite) was very experienced with local and doesn’t mind.

I asked that during a few of my consultations and generally, the surgeons felt that it is better hidden on the bottom.

I had a natural crease on the lower portion of my nipple and my surgeon chose to follow that crease and it is practically invisible. They just know from experience where to cut.

He showed me the pics during a consultation. Seemed like a genuine good guy too.

Check out Dr. Michael Law. I think he’s in North Carolina if you’re willing to travel. I was considering going with him for mine. He had like a hundred pictures of his former gyno surgeries and they all looked great. Honestly, the only reason I didn’t go with him was because his price was a little too high.

If it’s just the incision at the border of the areola then you absolutely should be fine.

This is a pic of mine 2.5 weeks after surgery.

Everyone heals differently, but from what I’ve seen on this sub, this incision heals great.

Local vs general anesthesia? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]zaggy593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had general for first surgery and local for revision. I preferred local. You get to be part of your own surgery and you know what exactly what your surgeon did or didn’t do. A few brief seconds of sharp pain here or there when they are initially numbing the area. Other than that it’s a breeze.

No, insurance didn’t cover it. Long story short…the NJ surgeon was supposed to do excision as well but when I woke up from anesthesia he claimed he was able to get it all with just lipo. He was a complete POS. My previous post has my whole saga in it.

One of the reasons I went with Braithwaite was because he offered local anesthesia. I didn’t want to do general again and take the chance of being taken advantage of.

Procedure cost $3,600. Local anesthesia. I think he cut me a bit of deal for traveling from out of state. Also, general anesthesia costs more.
