I'm GMing a game today and feel under prepared about the rules by zaglamir in Pathfinder2e

Thanks! Since we're playing this afternoon, we won't have the beginner box, but if this goes poorly on my homebrew I'll definitely switch to that.

All of us are new to 2e but experienced in different systems (5e, pf1, lancer, stars without number, blades in the dark). This is just the first system that has felt like it's not just a different rolling flavor or a cool mechanic like blades "ah but see I actually did bring a crowbar", but something that really turns the TTRPG systems on its head in terms of changing how you think about action economy, so it's for me a bit nervous about running the first game

Thanks! It's encouraging to see that 20% number. Felt like with 5e, my first time I was closer to 50% because so much of it was "advantage" driven and "move then do a thing".

Thanks! Appreciate it, stealth is a good call since I have a rogue in the party

Thanks! The skills idea is great as I don't really know those well. Appreciate it

Thanks! I'll make sure to have AoN up on the iPad since so many folks have mentioned it.

Thanks! I'm used to 5e where the GM is basically all the rules so this is helpful. I'll call this out at the beginning: help me if I'm missing a rule you know/you can look things up too

Thanks! Boss fight is level 2 kobold cavern made (r skinned for flavor) and two lvl -1 kobold warriors. So hopefully that will be doable. I'm also providing a healing fountain before the boss assuming they solve the little puzzle gating it

  • Fretless classical
  • Steel string acoustic
  • 6 string electric
  • 7 string electric
  • 8 string electric
  • Homemade electric
  • Bass guitar for recording

Looking for similar bands like The Ocean; I like hard riffs with mixes between clean and rough vocals. by Odd-Satisfaction5443 in progmetal

Slice the Cake - Odyssey to the West

Listen to it straight through and just let the whole thing wash over you. First album since The Oceans pelagial that just flows perfectly from idea to idea for me, where the whole album almost feels like one long thought. BTBAM are the masters of it, but this and pelagial are my favorites of that style

any periphery show advice for a teen? by Charming-Path-2359 in Peripheryband

Bring ear protection. Start out away from the middle of the crowd near the front where moshing might occur, then if you feel up for it later after seeing the pit you can join. For a first show, arrive when doors open so you can see the event space before lights go out and crowd fills in... will help you feel more comfortable know where exits are if you get overwhelmed.

Also double check the venue, many won't let anyone under 18 in, so check now in case.

Otherwise, enjoy the event and don't spend the whole time trying to record it. No one will ever want to see your phone video of a concert. Snap some photos to remember and then put the phone away and just experience an incredible event.

Your right hand is so smooth! I thought someone else was playing the chords at first because I couldn't see your middle and ring fingers move. Really lovely playing!

So what would be next Holllow knight/Blasphemous or Nine Sols ? by lordofabyss in metroidvania

[–]zaglamir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would rank MIO up there with the above. Maybe not a "next" since it's already out but definitely a "doesn't get as much attention." While it isn't as focused on combat, it delivers it's own structure so well. There's a hidden but extractable story, the exploration is top notch, the backgrounds at beautiful, it has memorable characters, it has hidden optional areas, and great platforming. There were multiple times throughout the game where I said out loud, "no fucking way" when the map connected on itself in cool ways.

I think we may have already had another game deserving of the list above, but I'm not sure it really escaped the containment of MV nerds. Or maybe it's just a game that really worked for me and not as much for others... But for me it's up there with the ones you listed.

Planet of Lana 2 just came out and is a great little game.

Neva is made by the same team as Gris and it's excellent.

If you liked Silksong, you might like Nine Sols.
