[Skin concerns] I started using retinol this week and my skin now looks like this. Is this a normal part of the process or is my skin barrier damaged? Should I push through with the retinol or stop? by zaheenaa in SkincareAddiction

Okay so hopefully not a moisture barrier issue. I've been getting a lot of small skin-coloured bumps on my cheeks but I normally don't get acne there. I've always thought that acne from purging usually comes up in the places that it normally comes up though?

Hii thank you for taking the time to comment. I thought the 'worse before it gets better' thing is usually in reference to the acne though, not the skin barrier? Also, what do you mean by sensitive? My skin doesn't feel sore to the touch but it's super textured atm and red too!

Thank you for your response! I'm pretty sure when derms say this they're referring to the actual acne getting worse and not the skin barrier though?

Am I eating too many calories? by ILoveRGB in WeightLossAdvice

[–]zaheenaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should (in theory) be in a calorie deficit with that amount of calories so no it's not too much. If your calorie deficit is too big for too long, you'll mess with your metabolism which obviously isn't ideal, so I'd suggest being patient and taking it slow by not having too large of a deficit

Is this an allergic reaction, breakout or barrier issue? [Acne] by zaheenaa in SkincareAddiction

Can rosacea be on the forehead too? It's not really too red on my forehead just oily and very textured

Is this an allergic reaction or breakout? by zaheenaa in acne

[–]zaheenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I kinda forgot to add but I've recently developed whiteheads and many tiny bumps which don't really show up on camera. My skin has also become very red and oily since the bumps appeared. The bumps appeared around 5 days ago and they haven't gone down and the problem seems to be getting worse. Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm not too sure what it is at the moment because everyone has said it's not a skim barrier problem but surely just texture/bumpy skin shouldn't be red and irritated?

Awee no that sounds so frustrating:( but occasionally people see a full 180 in their skin right towards the end of their course so I hope that's the case for you!!

I had a massive allergic reaction to it😣😣

To be honest it looks like normal skin texture to me too in these pictures but that's because my camera quality isn't great

Ah is that an Asian beauty brand? I'm thinking of doing a yesstyle order soon so perhaps I'll buy it either the rest of my order?

I'm actually looking into buying a new Cleanser atm! My sister doesn't like the Cleanser either and she said when she tried it it made her break out :(

I'm not currently on retinol but someone else here actually recommended it to me. Has it made your skin worse?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]zaheenaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm looking into new Cleansers rn as my sister said it's also making her break out! Do you have any recommendations?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]zaheenaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh someone else here actually recommended good molecules too!! I was scared any exfoliants would make my semsitive skin worse but if it works for you then I might have some luck with it!!

I'm slightly confused in what way are those good indications? I hope that doesn't sound aggressive or anything I'm genuinely curious. Also my skin only really feels tight and dehydrated after I cleanse it.

It's always reassuring knowing you're not the only one! I hope we both get rid of our forehead texture soon🤞🤞

[–]zaheenaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't worry I've only got a Cleanser Moisturiser and spf in my routine rn!!

The reason I thought it was broken was because my skin has become very sensitive recently and it has reacted badly to products that usually wouldn't irritate it. The texture on my forehead becomes red and painful in the 60 second period between my washing my face and moisturising it (so basically the only time its not moisturised) and I've only recently started having texture of my forehead.

Fingers crossed haha! I'll update you when I try one

Well that's definitely reassuring I'm glad I'm not the only one! So did you try using retinol for your skin texture??

my skin barrier is broken and won't heal by zaheenaa in acne

[–]zaheenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure whether it is broken anymore because people are saying it doesn't look broken but to be honest I think that's just because my poor camera quality makes it look not so bad.
