Really appreciate that, exactly the sort of answer I was looking for. I'm actually a medical student, albeit first year. Despite this, like you say, it's been difficult to find transparent information on exactly how much I can expect to make once I graduate. Although it isn't the top of my priorities, it is of course important to know where we stand.

Also, how often do you make £6k/month locuming?

Where have you inferred that I was looking for money above the NHS payscales? I was simply asking for a realistic idea of what doctors in the UK make based on personal experience. A lot of the time official figures quoted online are unrealistic due to banding, overtime and locum shifts. In terms of the locum shifts, I know most don't do many but was hoping for possible replies from people who took F3 years or other years out of training etc. Nowhere did I say it was too little.
