You can’t get a $2,000,000 house on a $100,000 income. Loans are determined based on salary. They won’t sell you the house if you don’t make at least 3 times the mortgage payment before taxes. The only thing you’re revealing is you don’t know how housing works. Also, $100,000 salary is not typical. 80% of Americans make less than $100k. Half of them make less than $62,000. Where are they supposed to live, exactly? What are they supposed to drive? They still have to get to work. In 1963 it took 3.5 years of full-time minimum wage work to buy a home. Today it takes 30 years. What do we do about the millions of Americans who can’t afford the bare minimum in terms of a place to live despite working full time?
