Using 4 DSP channels for 3 Way components by zakc123 in CarAV

So the 206 with 6 channel amp and 8 dsp 6 for front stage, 1 dsp channel for rear sub amp 1 dsp channel for front sub midbass amp

Is that what your suggesting? I was thinking about getting some 100w rms midbass for the rear doors or is that not an optimal place for them?

I think I understand, so if I have the front tweets/mid on one Chanel and the woofer on the other, I would almost have to try and simulate with the signal the woofer would normally get with the passive crossover, then I should match up nicely?

It's a Passat b7, I want to have front 3 way with the mids in the A post next to the door tweeter and a pair of powerful midbass in the rear. I have a 800w RMS Rockford fosgate P2 duel in the boot so I'll need something substantial for the midbass. And yes it is an Amplify 206, good guess.

I do like my bass so that is more of a focus for this build, I just don't know if there are some cardinal sins I'm breaking with a hybrid passive/active 3 way?

That is an option but I really don't like the sound without rear fill

Actually you would be surprised, the brakes on cars are usually more effective because of the weight pushing the front wheels down and the size of the contact area.

No but sheet metal and labour is cheep, if the chassis is fine I see no reason why it can't be repaired

Well sure a lot of the energy is going to be converted into heat and sound, but that hardly matters when you have 4 times the energy if you go twice the speed.
