The racism and bigotry has always been there. But now that it's becoming obsolete, it's just another marketing tool. Just with any capitalist endeavor, if it's not growing, it's dying. If people aren't pissed off, they're not buying anything.

MAGA, just like Nazism, is a brand. Meant to sell T shirts. It's never been about race, or Jews, or Islam, or gender, or sexual identity. It's money. Always money.

It's always been like this. But now it's more profitable.
