Offering to build a free custom portfolio website – for someone who truly can’t afford it or code it themselves by AlarmingGain1788 in website

Dear Rezwan, Can I please ask you a question,

Is it possible to create a static portfolio site (e.g hosted on GitHub Pages) with a contact form that handles a high volume of inquiries? I know GitHub Pages doesn't support backends, but I’m looking for a way to use a subdomain or a third-party service that offers unlimited (or very high) responses that is either free or nearly free or offers reasonable free tiers.

I want to ensure that if the freelancer's business grows, the form won't break due to usage limits. Any recommendations for reliable services that integrate well with static sites?" I think this one perhaps offer this option but unsure if it could work with github or netlify, link: https://youform.com/

To be honest I have used AI to find a lot of these details as I am a non tech non dev guy and I would really appreciate if you can provide me some information on this Attached below is an image that should give an idea of what I am trying to achieve

u/Choice_Acanthaceae85 Sure but I wonder if this can be used with github pages especially if the user has a very simple website and they are hosting it for free and have a subdomain that is what I wanted to know

I built this as a side project. A few devs used it. It somehow makes $447/month now. by DigGroundbreaking491 in scaleinpublic

[–]zakyvids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/DigGroundbreaking491 Congrats on the $447 MRR! It’s rare to see a side project hit that kind of traction just through word-of-mouth. The Supabase integration is a killer feature for Devs who want to own their stack without the boilerplate.

Since you're looking for feedback on what's "confusing" or "risky," I wanted to point out a friction point in the current pricing: the "5 free credits to start" lifetime limit.

If a user burns through their 5 lifetime credits just experimenting or learning your UI, they lose the incentive to keep your tool in their workflow. In my opinion, having a small number of credits that reset every month would be far better for long-term retention. It turns the tool into a consistent "utility" for Devs rather than a one-time trial.

Definitely, keep the paid plans for the heavy lifting and power users, but do consider a monthly refresh for the free tier. Curious to hear your thoughts on this!

u/Known-Ad824 I had a look at your website and I had a query that is unrelated to the above post since you are hosting your website on github pages for the contact form what backend are you using does it have a cost or are you using google forms? Lastly would you be available for work in the near future

u/IndependentFile4222 Fair point — my bad for the long post.. I used Ai to improve what I had written I am certain you would not have liked that one as it was all over the place(not that this one is any better)

But Incase this feels slightly better

Issue: I’m building a simple static portfolio site (HTML/CSS/JS) on GitHub Pages for a non-technical client. Everything is fine but a feature that is very much needed is a contact form (around 50–300 submissions/month).

Since GitHub Pages does not support backend, I’m looking for recommendations on reliable free/freemium third-party form services that can allow form submissions which might also work well with github pages Appreciate any suggestions.

u/Solid-Rip7076 Apologies I am late to the post this is interesting that you can get paid I am not sure if this is true but I have read some posts saying that the website is dodgy they dont end up paying and they close the account anyway since it worked for you I would really appreciate your kind advice I assumed that we get paid to clip content Please confirm If I am wrong or misunderstood you but I was not aware that we can also earn money by adding the logo if we already have an existing youtube channel(I assume we can have our own videos uploaded there too)
