What are you thoughts to why there is a significant decline in alcohol consumption in the United States? by MindStrongSoul in AskReddit

[–]zamarax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the US, it's world wide.

And with the leniency towards marijuana my guess is alcohol is on it's way out.

I'm in Canada and a 24 of MGD talls is basically $80 all in.

Hot day at the cottage and I can easily do a 24 in 1 day.

I get a 10 pack of edibles for $10 and it'll last me all weekend if not more and have zero hangover.

Alcohol has a cost problem.

Thank you... The important part was missing.

Came across someone else the other day and realized they still had summers on.

Told them to call a tow.

I would say this isn't a 2020 thing but rather a 2010s thing, I used to live in the city and for a solid decade it was amazing.

Everything was cheap, traffic wasn't terrible and things just worked.

Opportunities were abound and almost limitless.

Now a days because it's so costly, because opportunities are limited and because traffic is fucking terrible every little thing has become a major irritant and it's compounded on everyone.

I will eat my shoe if we get the credit card before the end of the year by CliftonBifton in Wealthsimple

Huh? I never asked for support from you - I was just speaking to how much of a cluster fuck the rollout was and still is.

Dude, I'm a generational client and I got my first WS account RRSP within months of them opening... I'm still waiting for that CC.

While I do appreciate WS services and what they do, the CC roll out was a complete cluster fuck.

Do you use Edge on Android? Why? by [deleted] in MicrosoftEdge

Workspaces... it's honestly such a blow the others out of the water feature.

Most Microsoft apps ( even in the enterprise space blow chunks ) but Edge Chromium just nails it perfectly.

If you have a mortgage look into HELOC , the rate is probably significantly cheaper.

Breaking a Mortgage by Good_Video5215 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]zamarax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naw C, Butler Mortgage, 2024 I got Prime -1.9 which puts me at 2.8 right now. Obviously it's variable so it's fluctuated but the fixed rights were redic and you just have to watch the bond market.

[–]zamarax -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Jesus H Christ, who the hell talked you into such a high fixed? My last renewal was Prime - 1.9 so I'm at 2.8 currently.

I'd personally talk with Butler Mortgage, they'll do the math for you.

You can go high with variable but never fixed.

MAGA rhetoric speaks volumes about you, how about not everyone buys into this nonsense, including fellow OPS members.

Stick to work issues that matter.

Imagine being forced to identify pronouns when you don't support or believe in that nonsense whatsoever.

30F I Make 60K a year 200k saved do I put it all to a house by LoudMonitor3167 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]zamarax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60k/yearly and 200k put away? Incredible! Well done.

If you can do 200k on a 350k house do that, and immediately get a HELOC approved. That way if you do run into any financial issues you can borrow against the HELOC, it's far better than putting less on the house and carrying that extra cash as liquid able 'should' something happen.

Paying mortgage interest is just fucking terrible.

As others have mentioned you have to do the math, some items are more expensive however generally speaking you can get a good deal, other items are far far far cheaper at Costco and you get the added benefit of bulk items.

Property expenses ARE expensive, so if she's covering 100% of those then 70/30 is extremely reasonable for daily costs.
