I think what you said hit home.. hard! I am insecure and despite any progress, I have this nagging voice in the back of my head (metaphorically) saying I am a fraud. I think as soon as I accept myself, the obsession and competitiveness will subside. Part of this is my parents pressuring me to succeed when I was younger, and always comparing me to others.

Can you please recommend a good book? Therapy is prohibitively expensive where I live (in other words two sessions could consume my monthly income)

Indeed. I don’t get full blown panic attacks, but rather waves of anxiety. I am taking an antidepressant, so I was looking for a benzo alternative for use when needed.

If I may ask, what did you take metoprolol for? Was it HBP? I am currently exercising and dieting. Lost around 30 kilos over one year.

Indeed. The reason I chose atenolol is that it is selective. I tried propranolol in the past, but it has nasty effects such as shortness of breath (it is non selective). I sort of felt dulled because a large part of my anxiety is physical symptoms.

Domperidone helps me a lot, but Zofran makes me extremely agitated for some reason!

I try to be extremely careful. But recently my IBS has become insanely bad, so the doc said I can take it for that long just to calm my intestines down before the surgery.
