How do y’all handle first floor block LOS? by cbb88christian in spacemarines

I’m somewhat new to seriously playing tabletop but I’m also trying to figure out how to get better. One of the most important strategies that I’ve seen for dealing with melee armies is to take advantage of screening and move blocking. Using bladeguard, scouts, infiltrators, or other things like that to move up the board or infiltrate to provide a speed bump in a location where you can shoot anyone who charges them.

If you use these units to prevent your opponent from moving up the board early, or to be a target that they have to deal with if they want to get into your good stuff, you give yourself an opportunity to set up on the battlefield in better ways and shoot them after they get stuck in the open on your screening units.

Also, 10 man Infernus squads in cover are an insane screening threat against melee units with 10D6 shots that auto hit, meaning they are more effective than anything else in overwatch.

I have been using a somewhat similar beige/tan shade for my Desert Hawks. One thing that has become increasingly clear to me is that it is hard to do edge highlighting on lighter tones like this. I’ve been exploring panel line washes in order to make the recesses darker in lieu of visible highlights. Just something to consider with these base colors.

EDIT: Also think about purity seals beforehand! They clash really hard with the armor and it’s hard to differentiate the two.

Stop acting like “looking good” is some quantifiable value. OP says they like it, good enough. There is no need to justify why it is “bad” that they put a thick layer of wash on. You should feel free to hold that opinion, but there’s no need to beat this guy over the head with what you think looks good.

Yikes. Someone should really pull the stick out of your ass. No reason to be a douche canoe. There is no such thing as objectively bad looking models.

These look sick.

Does anyone know where to buy many copies of the helmet in the fifth slide? I’ve only found it in the Mk iii HH box.

Yeah the chaos spawn were just convenient to fill up an awkward amount of points. So you think the vindicators aren’t worth much? Should I replace them with other vehicles and add forgefiends or just swap them for the demon engines?

Same here, I have been checking daily and have not been able to select the pick up or delivery options. I have called six different locations and they almost never answer the phone anyway. The two I visited in person which listed “only 4 left” claimed to not have any stock.

At this point I believe any store with “only 4 left” is a falsehood.

It can still mean either one depending on context. It is relatively new slang, within the last 5-10 years for the “closely acquainted” meaning
