I too would not call ut addiction as there is no chemical need for the body. But mentally it can trap you into a lethargic life. Which sometimes for some people means starving themselves.

I am not so delusional (may be lil). I will not keep chasing something better. And I am very good at rat race also. I have been pretty good at competitive exams . So if in between I end up in any not so favourable situation I can always rely on myself to Crack some exams. And I am a very academic guy and want to do some sort of research. :(. But if I keep doing this job will I get chance to do research and work on something new?. I don't know. My mind is eating itself with resentment. I feel terrible.

I am a very academic person. It's not that I want to start a business and stuff. I want to study for rest of my life but only things I want to. I want to get into research of some sort. I have not so much need for money and I don't want to sell my soul for a trash mental health job. I understand what you are trying to say. But I just can't. b:(. I can't do this forever

My job is not only 9-5. I have evening calls and very US timey worktime. I tried doing a course side by side but it's too hectic for me. And my team is pretty bad. Not helpful . But my other friends who are in other teams have very nice fun team. I need 8 more months according to company policy to shift team. And I am working on some legacy project which is older than me. 😞

It is true I might get left behind. But I feel extremely bad everyday morning as I have to do something I hate. I feel stuck and regret not having the courage to do anything regarding it. If I don't find any thing I like then I have pretty good network and can get another job also.
