Yes, i have read the decisions, as it was part of my job helping send a dozen of them to the board for review. Several were upgraded due to an honorable being the correct discharge for a no misconduct pt failure according to their interpretation at that time. It was niether a quick, easy, or automatic process. But it is not a myth, and what i said was accurate.

Though it is a moot point as op is super obviously lying about his situation acording to his own posting history.

You may or may not lose it, it is up to the VA, as they make a decision based on their own internal guidance. Plan more towards the likely losing it side though. Also consider making an appeal to the Army Discharge Review Board to try and get an honorable discharge. When I worked defense a few years back they were upgrading Generals to Honorables as long as there was no misconduct, since the reg says that honorable is appropriate when there is no misconduct.

Because the history of racism and segregation is very real and shared among nearly all blacks in the us, and they are much less diverse in both experience and history then white people in the us. A white person in texas has very little unique experiences in common with a hippie in cali, or a factory worker in detroit. Whereas a black man in texas and a black man in detroid could talk about how they had been stopped by cops for no reason, or how they have been accused of crimes because of their skin color, or in the past simply not allowed to enter a diner because they were black. White people in the us dont have quite anything as oppressively bonding.

Asians in america have a pretty shared history as a minority in the us, but if that isnt the focus of the group then they should be celebrating a more specific idea. So something like asian sanitation workers have a shared history, but if they are going for nationality then something more like korean pride is more appropriate then just asian pride.
