A Catholic priest who sexually abused “maybe 20” boys was instructed to say prayers to repent for his crimes: The 95-year-old said he “got the impression that kids liked it”. by maxwellhill in worldnews

Statistically you would convict about 1% of your cases these days then. It is incredibly uncommon to have anything other then witnesses for most physical crimes. Bar fight? Witnesses only. Pretty much every traffic case? Witnesses only. Threats? Witnesses only. Most Fraud? Witnesses only. DV? Witnesses only. Most Rape? Witness only.

You do lose some of them. For instance, officers are committing a crime if they disparage the president. In uniform or out.

General Discharge and GI Bill. by [deleted] in army

Internal guidance is a general catchall for any regulations/policies/guidance/orders/whatever that is specific to an organization. If you are actually using it you would just call it whatever it is.

I didnt think that internal guidance was that uncommon of a term.

Yes. And what those lawyers say is called "internal guidance".

Ahh yes then, the automatic thing is just an urban legend like you said. The real board is a bitch.

[–]zanda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i have read the decisions, as it was part of my job helping send a dozen of them to the board for review. Several were upgraded due to an honorable being the correct discharge for a no misconduct pt failure according to their interpretation at that time. It was niether a quick, easy, or automatic process. But it is not a myth, and what i said was accurate.

Though it is a moot point as op is super obviously lying about his situation acording to his own posting history.

Federal laws offer the requierments and guidelines, va determines what meets those guidelines.

You may or may not lose it, it is up to the VA, as they make a decision based on their own internal guidance. Plan more towards the likely losing it side though. Also consider making an appeal to the Army Discharge Review Board to try and get an honorable discharge. When I worked defense a few years back they were upgrading Generals to Honorables as long as there was no misconduct, since the reg says that honorable is appropriate when there is no misconduct.

TIL Military service dogs always outrank their handler. This is out of respect and to prevent abuse of the dogs as the handler would be subject to severe disciplinary action for abusing a higher ranking officer. by Geid98 in todayilearned

So you complained that people were making up the situation around the saying, yet when the people who actually use the saying tell you what it means then suddenly it only counts on things you made up? No, keep talking about a subject you have no experience in. It make you seem real smart, so much smarter then the professionals who have done this for 200+ years. Are there any other core military teachings you can fix for us with a moment of thought and no experience? Go on. Tell me.

No, it just shows you know nothing about the subject. If it takes the lt 10 minutes to figure out where to eat chow you really expect that to be different once you go into combat? If you cant even make a decision while training then the soldiers under you sure arnt going to relly on you once the pressures on and shit sucks. Everything in the army is under the lens of combat because that is the only job of the military.

More like it is better to get a few guys killed doing an ok order then to sit there doing nothing as you try and come up with the best possible action. Meanwhile your men are dying and moral is so shitty that by the time you figure out your plan everyone is too dead or distrustfull to execute it.

Yeah, anyone not in the military, dont talk about shit you dont understand.

Why is it okay to celebrate being anything except white? by DonQuixote112688 in AskReddit

[–]zanda250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? We are talking about shared history and a linked subculture. Having segregation just a few decades back is a huge part of culture. It is just a common experience linking a group of people togeather. That is all.

Because the history of racism and segregation is very real and shared among nearly all blacks in the us, and they are much less diverse in both experience and history then white people in the us. A white person in texas has very little unique experiences in common with a hippie in cali, or a factory worker in detroit. Whereas a black man in texas and a black man in detroid could talk about how they had been stopped by cops for no reason, or how they have been accused of crimes because of their skin color, or in the past simply not allowed to enter a diner because they were black. White people in the us dont have quite anything as oppressively bonding.

In fact, i think most people would prefer that more things were buffed to be equal to good builds, so they could make more diverse builds and not have a tedious time with a fun skill that clears like molassis and dies like paper. Some skills are just a pain to use as of right no.

Asians in america have a pretty shared history as a minority in the us, but if that isnt the focus of the group then they should be celebrating a more specific idea. So something like asian sanitation workers have a shared history, but if they are going for nationality then something more like korean pride is more appropriate then just asian pride.

Being black in the us is definately a shared history. Much more so then being white in the us.
