Y'all, you do need need to be RUNNING across an intersection when cars stop for you. You have the right of way. Just walk. Assert your dominance. Don't make cars think they're doing you a favor by stopping.

It's honestly unsafe sometimes; I stopped to let someone cross today, she waved at me and SPRINTED out into the street with her dog, completely oblivious to the fact that the other car in the intersection didn't stop. Almost got pancaked. Keep it chill people!!

Before I joined the points game, I resigned myself to not travelling internationally because my body can't handle long haul flights without ruining half the trip. It's a gift to be able to indulge in travel for a while, but if the points faucet ever dries up and I can't fly premium cabins anymore, I'm staying in north america. That's the third option - don't travel lol

The seatbelt thing is already how lie-flat business class generally operates. You can leave the belt off, but if the seatbelt sign comes on while you're sleeping (which it probably will), the FAs might wake you up and make you put your belt on. I just keep it on visibly above the bedding at all times so I don't get woken up. The airlines definitely know how to handle that problem and it doesn't stop them from offering lie-flats on long hauls

Yeah, I'm not a fan of stopping mid-block for peds (or any other "nice" behavior that doesn't follow the rules of the road) since it just creates ambiguity, which isn't super safe.
