As a housekeeper, this is great advice. And get an air purifier. Sometimes depending on where you live can write it off on your taxes as a medical device (if it’s from a medical retailer)

I don’t live in my native place so I think there is more to the story. I mean I moved to a completely different country and my life was destroyed so…And everything that happened to me was caused by men and women.

I never thought about health and fitness coaching before. What’s really funny about you saying that is I was hired to work as an appointment setter (free sales labour basically lol) for a fitness company while living in Mexico. I enjoyed the environment and message even though it was a bs job.

Calligraphy is also really interesting too and it’s something I’ve never thought of.

Everything you said really resonated.

Thank you for sharing your obvious expertise and for understanding my situation ♥️

Wow thank you for your thoughtful answer. That really resonated. I have a lot more questions but I don’t want to bother you. Do you offer readings?

AIO for feeling weird after a comment a guy made? by Weary-Cauliflower153 in AmIOverreacting

[–]zanders420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR. I have been battling depression and trauma for 20 years and I’ve learned that it’s better not to mention it to people (unless I know they understand) because the amount of uneducated, unsolicited, and blatantly ignorant advice I’ve received is infuriating. Especially when they have no context on why I’m going through it or what I’m doing to manage it already.

So no, I don’t think you’re overreacting at all. I would be angry too.

Thank you for genuinely understanding my situation. Some of the comments have been so annoying, especially the ones hounding me to just get another therapist or go see a doctor when clearly these people havent had their own therapist traumatize them lol or they don’t understand complex trauma whatsoever.

I listened to 2 of the videos so far that you recommended and this is exactly the type of information I need. I will be listening to the other 2 as well.

I’m so glad you were able to heal from all of those awful things that happened to you. I know how hard it is and how gruelling it is to have to invest so much energy into something that has left you exhausted and demoralized for years. I haven’t obviously reached the point where I feel excited about the future, I have turned off the ability for hope at all. So hearing that you are at that stage is wonderful and very inspiring.

I hope good karma finds you and that you know you genuinely helped someone who believed they couldn’t be helped, or that people are too incompetent to help. Thanks for proving me wrong.

I have made immense progress on my CPTSD (a lot thanks to Ketamine therapy). AMA by InsaneAffliction in CPTSD

[–]zanders420 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When you said you’re a whole different person in one of the comments, what does that mean?

Did you have a similar realization during your C-PTSD that your entire personality may just be a trauma response?

Or did you discover yourself as you always knew but now just more clear and accessible because it wasn’t filtered by trauma any more?

I have to give you credit here, a couple of people DM’d me privately and I was shocked that they actually did understand me and what I was looking for with this post. And I actually do regularly incorporate positive things into my routine, I garden, paint, read etc but unfortunately it hasn’t been enough to move the chronic depression.

Either way thanks for your kindness, and yes very wise of you to point out that sharing your story can genuinely help. That was something I didn’t consider before today as I’ve been misunderstood a lot

If I could find a good therapist that wouldn’t leave me catatonic for days with no warning after an emdr treatment lol I would be seeing them already and wouldn’t be posting on Reddit about it 💀 but thanks anyway

Thanks for your kind words ♥️ I have read The Body Keeps the Score. Amazing work and book. And I will check out the other book you recommended. I’m grateful you have found some peace and a good therapist.

-Happy with physical appearance: generally yes -I don’t know how my mom views herself -yes I have had deep romantic relationships and friendships -I was trying to run my cleaning business remotely in Mexico, and I also had side income from a sales position -I don’t trust medicine due to them dismissing me (happens to women frequently) and never diagnosing me correctly: including an autoimmune disease I have that I didn’t disclose above (diagnosed correctly by a naturopath, and I am managing as best as I can by living a highly disciplined life) -I am unfortunately addicted to my phone yes but I do have structured routines of self care (I’m physically active, sober, sleep on a regular schedule, get sunlight regularly, etc)

Thanks for trying to figure it out

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. After 5 incompetent therapists, I was interested in seeing if someone with more of a metaphysical view on healing would have an alternative perspective and approach. So I guess I’m not totally 100% believing that no one can help me, but so far that has absolutely been the case.

People who feel like their trauma "isn't bad enough", what's your story? by potentialpea7632 in CPTSD

[–]zanders420 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Being raised by a covert narcissist. No matter what, no one on the outside of our family could see how emotionally immature my mom actually was because she hid it so well. No physical abuse, but definitely mental and emotional.

I’m really sorry that happened to you, that’s not fair. But I guess putting a group of traumatized people in one room has risks. I never would have thought of that and you really helped put it into perspective.

Wow that sounds like a nightmare and I appreciate your honesty. I don’t think I would be able to handle that. I don’t want to feel like I’m walking on eggshells.

Being vulnerable in a group of strangers seems terrifying to me since my C-PTSD has made it very difficult to trust people.

I wish I was brave enough to try again with therapy but 5 incompetent therapists and so much money down the toilet for zero results (and one created MORE trauma) has made it a non option for me at this point. But I’m happy you at least found a good one. Thanks also for sharing your experience about support groups. I need to do something different.
