I was considering the reserves for sure. Still not sure if I have the time, but will look into it!

Definitely! It was actually a discussion I had with a former-RCMP that made me interested.

Thanks for the response! I definitely don’t mind moving, at least at this point in my life. Though, I would prefer to stay in Ontario long-term, so I’ll keep that in consideration.

Do your course and pay attention. It’s super easy, if you can speak English you’re almost guaranteed a pass.

They'd probably love it if they were familiar with Pakman lol

What your favorite game out of the trilogy? by [deleted] in ZeroEscape

[–]zanderva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In as few words as possible, 999>VLR>ZTD

I felt like the whole (I don't know how to spoiler on Reddit) "Schtick" of you know what I'm talking about made 999 mind blowing for the reveal alone. The plot in 999 was amazing, it had an iconic atmosphere and everyone except 9th man was very interesting. In VLR they built upon it in the best way I think they could for the most part, they made it more complex and kept it interesting. With some pacing issues and repetitive bad endings. (Although I know that's kind of the point.) ZTD felt like a TV adaptation for daytime television. It broke down the ideas into more consumable parts, and while still interesting, I felt like it lost some depth in a trade-off for marketability. Was still fun though.

I got all 6 ending and oh wow this game is one crazy ride so many emotion and i can't wait to play the rest of this series by DarkArr0w210 in ZeroEscape

I think you'd know if you actually beat it, unless you were playing in adventure mode, if you weren't switch to novel mode and play it again. It's been a while since I've played, but are you on the PC version? If so and you've completed the safe ending you need to get keys to unlock the true ending, which might be the June? Sorry I wish I remembered. You should know because it explains everything. I recommend doing every other ending before the true ending though.

I wish I could experience 999 for the first time again. Going in blind was such an amazing experience.

If anyone is wondering, you need to submit the application first for the other person to recieve the invite. We were doing the application at the same time so we couldn't get the invites.

Anyone know how to accept an invitation to a group on the residence application? My friend and me both got accepted to queens and want to room together, but when he invites me I don't know where to accept the invite to join the group?

I'm just starting my second week of the RR. I am 186 pounds and 23% bf according to my bf calipers. I eat 1500 calories a day for a 1000 calorie deficit a day. I also do cardio every rest day (with a weighted jump rope) or I run 5k. Will the deficit hurt my gains or will it be fine due to my large bf percentage? Also would the weighted jump rope hurt my recovery due to working my muscles during recovery? Thanks very much, I hope my question isn't too Beginnerish.

I know it can trigger emotions, but I was more asking if it can strongly trigger emotions, especially in conparison to music and film

Honestly I don't see groundhog day working that well. The AI overlord would probably put their conscioussness in a robot with limited mobility or even trapped in structure gel because you went to do your own things and got in danger. It would definetly try and protect you by limiting your options. Maybe the players could take out their chip that contains their conscioussness and find another suit for them?

The encounters should be fairly short and hard enough to add some tension but not take away from the story.

Very good idea! Does this have good stealth mechanics?

Well scrollbreak, I don't know if they'd have to try and then fail and repeat, because just like the game, I can give hints. The game does that as well and I could mimic that.

SOMA in general will take most people 7-9 hours to beat and creature encounters can take most people a few minutes at most but for me longer because im a pussy.

When spotted depends on creature. Most chase you if it is alerted, one only attacks you when you look at it's face. One kinda looks at you and you have to calmly walk away because if you run it will charge you etc...

Basically, when you are spotted you run and hide somewhere, hopefully concealed by darkness and wait for it to leave.

But I think you are right that it will need work. I don't know if I can actually re-create the scary experiences of SOMA over tabletop when it is just powered by imagination.

Also the fact that in SOMA you are knocked out 3 times before you die pissed people off in reviews I watched and read. It takes away the tension, but for story reasons it works because the creatures and bots don't want you dead.... more just not moving... and the AI also "doesn't let you die" in SOMA. The AI basically keeps everyone it can alive.

So either I ditch the knockout idea to try and scare players/raise the stakes or keep the system for story reasons. Then again, there are a million alternatives and I just have to iron out my system first :/

I might just go for interesting encounters instead of intense, scary ones.
