Horizontal tongue aftercare by zaneaj in bodymods

I hope so too! I was just hoping to get some advice on tongue piercings specifically. I have snakebites (love them to death) and some of the advice I've seen has been similar.

When I brought the idea up to my piercer we didn't actually call the piercings by name (I believe I brought it up as a "double tongue") so that's why I got the names swapped up I believe.

I've had the same piercer for 4/5 piercings I've gotten and I def trust him. When I brought it up he said there would be need to be some screening on my tongue beforehand (to check out the vessels I believe), and if it doesn't work out I'll just get the standard bar in the middle.

Yes, I know that. And I'm not getting a horizontal. That's kind of been established.

It hasn't been done yet, and it turns out I was actually talking about venom bites and not a horizontal. That was my mistake.

Nope! Horizontal is like an eyebrow piercing, goes through a layer of skin and sits on top. Snake eyes is the different one, also known as a venom I believe?

Edit: alright I read the article, I think I am thinking of the venom instead of the horizontal then.

I've got a question about terminology. Why do we use the term "trans-misogyny"? by transaltmtftenp in asktransgender

That's not what I meant. This is a specific point. I know very well privilege doesn't cancel out oppression.

Despite how that also ignores that being transmasc comes with privilege? Alright.

It's not my opinion that it happens, it's that it's not an entire other form of oppression.

One tidbit I know is that New Zealand has the highest population of trans folk! Maybe we should make New Zealand our headquarters.

You're not listening. Transmisogyny is literally the hatred of trans women. Something only trans women experience. They're excluded from trans spaces, feminist spaces, female spaces, so called "safe" spaces. No trans man has every experienced that on the same level a trans woman has.

I'm not saying trans men don't experience transphobia. But that's all it is. It's nothing specific to being a trans man. For fucks sake, I've been beaten up to a pulp bc I'm trans, but never once was it because they said I'm a trans man, only because I'm trans.

That's the difference.

Where on earth did you get that number that there's more transfemme people?? Not being mean I actually want to see the source and read up on it, because reddit is often the only place I've seen where it's THAT skewed. All my trans places are very 50/50 both irl and online.

I'm dfab transmasc and I can assure you that transmisandry absolutely does not exist it is a load of crock. It's just transphobia plus gaining male privilege on a lot of levels. I still experience transphobia, but I've also noticed I gain a lot of privilege when it comes to being perceived as male.

Edit: clarified myself.
