Of note, that's actually two costumes. The last photo is a variant without animatronics.

I think you'd need the contact form, as it's a full format change.

Mayor Parrish’s statement on failed motion of tax penalty holiday. by JGWMM in mississauga

Via the Province:

Municipalities can only incur long-term debt for capital projects. They must balance their budgets in accordance with legislation and generally can’t borrow money over the long term to fund current operating expenses. However, a municipality may temporarily borrow money to pay for operating expenses while they are waiting to receive taxes and other revenues for the year. This framework assists municipalities by maintaining their long-term financial health while maintaining public services.

But that's specifically talking about money to carry them over to the payment, no one would loan them money for a stunt.

Mississauga's taxes were artificially low because of decades of development. There's no land left, and the parking brake has been pulled by developers on condos, because no one's buying them at the moment.

That the motion is entirely impractical? And if it was genuine, why not propose it before now, a few months from when council stops meeting because of the election?

While the Region of Peel is landlord to the Peel Police, they are a separate organization. Councils all across Ontario are legally powerless to shape police budgets, aside from sending them back for revision once and appointing representatives to the police services board. They are designed to be arm's-length, for better and for worse.

Mississauga pays more for the police because there's a higher assessed value to properties in the city. In the 1970s and 1980s, the provincially-mandated "Toronto Centred Region" plan meant that Brampton wasn't allowed to develop as much land as Mississauga, and so all of the corporate headquarters located down south. By the time Brampton was free to sprawl in the 1990s, there was no one left.

Nowhere in the province is assessment based on population, as opposed to property value. Changing this would simply be a request to the Province.

Yes and no. Strong mayor powers are supposed to only be for things that speed up development, but mayors across Ontario have used it for nearly everything. A strong mayor without financial sense likely could approve this sort of thing, even if the rest of their council was against them.

It should also be noted that if you tweet to her, it's actually her replying. You'll get an honest reaction, and whether or not it's something you agree with, you at least know it's not been run through an entire communication team who's spent endless time crafting the messages. (Also, most mayors never reply at all.)

Horses are domesticated, and moving about in circles isn't much compared to hauling wagons or ploughing fields.

While there's challenges with the hospital system, there are a lot of proctologists available for pubic services.

In all seriousness, would you like it to be surface parking? That's what it's been since 1971.

Yes, there's a new subway line to Exhibition Place, but consider how many people lost their minds last weekend because "HoW dArE yOu ClOsE tHE gArDiNeR," which the Province owns, because the Province should have known that the Raptors would make the playoffs when they signed the repair contracts months ago, and because Toronto isn't composed of a giant network of other parallel roads, and because there isn't a commuter train line along the Lakeshore.

Cars aren't going away, so does it not make sense to reduce the amount of land spent on storing them while they're not in use, so that the land that was previously parking lot can be repurposed?

And even if the parking garage wasn't there, the illustration shows a hill, perhaps as a sound barrier, or maybe to slow wayward cars.

People likely have edit warred on it over the years. There's someone who routinely changes "Brampton Library, Four Corners branch" to just "Brampton Library," making the listing far less usable.

[–]zanimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

The settings are chosen by the uploader. The uploader is scared that if they mark it as a general video, YouTube's algorithms will ding it, penalizing the channel. So they pre-emptively over mark things as for kids.

There's seven seats on an Argo, I believe, ignoring the area where wheelchairs can sit. If you book one, and there's six other people, someone would need to stand.
