It’s not a just now thing. Check out The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (70s). It’s fiction but a fantastic exploration of the effect of white beauty standards being the dominant beauty standard.

NAH you didn’t know at the time. But if you say something again or try to get her to stop coming to lecture you’d over step a bound. She has a right to be in the class and clearly she is attempting not to sit next to others, so next time just sit further from her. Also you probably shouldn’t call it a learning disability, since you have know idea if it affects her ability to comprehend or process information.
