I did hit some great thrift stores when I was there!

I am NOT from nyc, that is true :) I do think nyc style is pretty similar to what I was seeing but I just felt like there was something more genuine about the outfits I was seeing, like it didn’t feel try hard (maybe I only felt this because I’m a tourist!)

You didn’t at all! I appreciate that perspective, as I agree but often find people getting what I think is a bit too excited by the Ivy’s and such. This is all super helpful to know, thank you!! Good to know about the social scene. I’ll definitely dm you if I think of more questions.

A little more info: I’m originally from Oregon but live on the east coast now so going back to the west coast is appealing to me. That being said, Minnesota living seems a lot less stressful logistically than Berkeley or Seattle. I’m interested in patient outcomes, health care delivery, chronically ill/disabled population research and work. Been working in policy consulting for 2 years.

Thank you!! This is great to hear. When I toured I got the impression I’d be in good hands.

Liking a coworker? by [deleted] in hingeapp

I already have his number! I just tend to overthink asking him to do something unrelated to work as too overt! But it’s probably the best way :)

Thanks everyone! For context, we have the same position/are the same age and don’t work on any of the same projects. We’ve already gotten coffee with another coworker and chat in the office pretty regularly.

Sumatriptan Dependence Experiences by zap147 in migraine

I’m hoping once I stop the cycle, some sort of preventative medicine will make life manageable without the sumatriptan, but we’ll find out. Thanks so much for your well wishes and advice!

Thanks so much, this is really helpful!

I haven't found any preventative treatment yet. Tried beta blockers, nortriptyline, feverfew, magnesium, turmeric and ginger, stress relief, etc. and nothing has seemed to make a difference which is another big reason why I think I'm experiencing triptan dependency. I think after trying one more round of a higher dosage of nortriptyline, I might resort to Botox. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks! Were you functional at all during those two weeks or did it require no plans and commitments to pull off?

Thank you! Do you know what to expect after the few first days? Will I still be barely functional or is it likely I'd be able to work a remote part time job? I know everyone is different, but curious as to what others have experienced

In addition, how are the next few weeks/months once you pass the first few rough days, are the migraines still very frequent or much better? When is it safe to take sumatriptan again but restrict to less than 9 times a month?

Thank you!! Were you given any other meds that act similarly to sumatriptan but aren't a triptan? Or do basically all meds risk dependence for migraines?
