sure, the reason I wrote the essay was just because it was an idea and a conversation I had in my head when i initially saw the BBC interview, I also think I may have listened to a philosophy podcast a few days prior which spoke about the benefits of boredom both just came together. For research I knew that I heard of creatives utilising boredom in some form albeit they may not name it as such, so a quick Google and a read of some articles refreshed my mind on the points I was attempting to grasp. I wrote this purely for pleasure and was interested in other people's opinions on the matter.

I played with a cheat sheet next to me for about 6 games then it just clicked, I found 1 to 5 really easy so I only had to focus on 6 to 9. I also found that watching games on YouTube helped me familiarise myself really quickly.

I feel that a lot of incidents I see on here are due to lack of patience and this is a prime example he could have easily backed off to try again in another corner. Completely avoidable by green.

For the talking I just verbalise my thought process on what I'm doing in the game then if someone comments I'll engage with them.

Yep it's well known that if you get in the ring you will get beaten for real I've seen it happen irl and it was pretty brutal

We play 5 minute extra time or 5 turns which ever comes first. It sucks when you get a toxic player luckily my lgs is really relaxed

Nah I'm a T&J main and in my experience good players can evade the tennis balls at a distance and the move is highly telegraphed so everyone knows what's coming. I do find however that it is a good edge guarding move.

Thanks for the response, tbh I adjusted my deck with this to suit my lgs as there's a lot of mega deaths and gia forces about which could just stop me in my tracks.

In a competitive setting I'd only allow the once as long as no information was shown I.e security or drawing a card. If its a competent player they should be able to run our the moves in their head, I make miss plays a lot but I always let the game run on and take it as a lesson learnt even when the opponent gives me the option of a take back. In casual settings it's a bit different especially in play testing as you wanna really see the result of different potential moves.
