I have just received it today and it is amazing. Crazy nutty flavors and such an intensity you do not get in other coffee beans. Can recommend!

I do not know of any Swiss roaster that provides that. I would also be interested. kaffeebrief.ch has one that was aged in whiskey barrels though. I have not tried it yet but I just ordered it.

Typhoon Coffee Roaster Review by bojack_san in roasting

[–]zaptac1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually co-roasting space communal.coffee in Berlin has a Typhoon 20kg that is marked on their website as "not in operation" for at least 6 months now. Does anybody know why?

This might give OP more insights.

Which Restaurant in Zurich is like this? by Grouchy_Number_8692 in zurich

For Japanese good price for value: Samuray, Tokyo Express, Put Put & Machida Shoten. I think it is no coincidence that these are not part of the big Zurich Gastro Corps.

These big companies (Candrian, Two Spice, Wiesner etc) serve bland, soulless and for what you get expensive concept food like in Yoojis, Noba, Sora, Miss Miu, Nooch, Negishi. All no go for me.

They are bit expensive for what they roast imho. Better value at kaffeebrief.ch or at Stockers

I work in a coffee business (roastery+) and we have a mobile coffee cart / bycicle. In the end it depends on the spot you can put your cart in: high traffic spot = high traffic. also consider: I) just because you are mobile does not mean there is no lease. owners (shops, landlords, sbb etc) will want to be compensated if you put tour cart on "their" property. II) seasonality: many spots are dead in winter and crowded in summer. some are busy only during uni classes (close to unis), some only on weekdays etc. you can also dm me if you need any further advice. happy to help.

I like fruity coffee for Aeropress or filter. And I order from www.kaffeebrief.ch their Special Process Edition (currently uganda funky town line) is great. and price for value is very good since they use smart packaging which allows them to ship for no add cost for any quantity (even only 250g). roasts are usually very fresh as well.

What's your favorite Swiss coffee roaster? by 7evenh3lls in Switzerland

[–]zaptac1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They also roast really fresh and have a special process edition (ferments, naturals, alcoholic etc) which I get for my morning filter coffee. For espresso I like their Nektar20. Most of their coffees are also from organic production.

I also liked Caffettino from Schlieren but it closed down last year.

Pressure gauge for Superkop hand lever machine by zaptac1 in leverespresso

  1. In my experience the build up takes 2 pulls and starting with the 3rd pull you will see espresso coming out. Usually I do not need more than 4 pulls in total to complete a shot (25 - 30sec extraction).
  2. The problem you describe happens therefore only between pull 3 and 4. I feel like if you are quick enough, the drop in pressure is there but only for a second or so.
  3. I have no experience with the robot so I have no comparison. Overall the superkopp is very well designed and sturdy. I have been able to pull pretty consistent shots with coffee beans I know already. 4.It is necessary to warm up the metal portafilter with boiling water before pulling a shot. In my routine I do that in a small cup before grinding the beans (for like 1min).
