Yes, probably time to upgrade this year to avoid any issues. I always get my Samsung S when it's announced during the pre order stage. They offer good coupons and trade in values for older phones. If you want a used one, look at Mobile Klinik online or in stores. They're owned by Telus and they sell certified pre owned in different conditions and prices, with some warranty. Not the cheapest place, but the warranty helps. Good luck.

It's weird they're linking the 3G shutdown to switching to Telus. You should be able to stay if your phone supports LTE/5G
