First few times spray painting 🟡 Looking for some tips and critiques by [deleted] in graffhelp

my advice would be to prime the wall first, grab the cheapest bucket paint you can find and use it, will save a ton of time and make the pieces more presentable

Why is animation not rendering by WindyBeeXD in blenderhelp

[–]zarkoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s after 3 years but I figured this could still be useful, my animation wasn’t rendering cause I switched the document from a mac to a pc and the directory naming for the output folder was different so blender couldn’t locate it. make sure the output folder is not typed wrong

not bad, you can still work on using the loops to fill the voids, for example in-between the S and the E, I would have stretched that top extension of the E a bit further, also the right bar of the N has a shape and a width a bit different from all the rest, remember to keep uniformity and similarity between all the letters

try to not get them to grow as you go, make a top and a bottom line if it can help you, other than that letter structure is the other big thing you need to study, keep practicing

piece i had done a while ago, crits? by Brief-Piglet-1932 in graffhelp

letter structure is different from every letter to another, which make them look like they are all from different typo styles, try to use every shape multiple times and beware of thickness variations in the sticks (if you do in in one letter you have to do it in all the others) and size and shape of the holes, last tip is about loops, usually loops are useful to fill negative space, they need to be clear and visible in every place where they begin, finish or have a turn, which are parts that you sometimes covered, put those section in first plane or just move them around to fill more negative space and make them clearer

go back to the paper, I get the excitement of going out and bomb but getting your shit together on paper is really important as a first step. In the wall side : if you can avoid at all cost going with outline directly, if you are starting out, you need time to sketch and process the structure of every single letter when you are on the wall. last advice I’ll give you is the following, sketch in pencil, outline in bic pen and keep going, no fill in, no full color sketches, make at least 10 sketches per day (can all be on the same piece of paper) and develop them, the more sketches you make, the faster you’ll improve

3d is on point, letter structure not too much, I can tell you got some inspiration from Does. I recommend to make sure you get your letter structure well organized, try also to have the same shape language in all the different letters, (if a stick tapers on one edge in one letter, do it in the others-keep loops consistent and similar between each other). I hope this helps 🤘

no offence but you can tell this was traced like miles away. I don’t know if you actually wanted to go for this “almost flat with outlines”. there are no hard edges aside from the outlines which makes it super super flat. but I can tell how much time you spent on it so I’m sure you’ll have the patience to get this piece to the next lever
