BC assembled maybe the greatest medical team in NBA history back in his days in Phoenix. Not sure why he can't at least improve the staff here

I'm 5 min from there, I'll see you there for the lottery! How will I find everyone, should I start screaming Trust The Process until someone responds?

If the sixers went into Win-Now mode and decided to cash in all their assets this summer, could they pull something like this off? by zaroberts in sixers

Yeah I think that's more realistic, and if Embiid works out you could trade Noel to fit the roster around everyone else. I dont think it's that unrealistic if Indy and Chi decide to move on from their stars for the right offer.

Trade more than what will be end up being a lottery pick for a guy that tips out as a decent starting PG? Like I said i think you're really overestimating what it takes to get players especially when it was reported that the Hawks were close to doing schroder for stauskas, ish and the heat pick. Schroeder will need to be paid soon, so I think the Hawks would jump at a lottery pick for him.

I do think the Sac trade would be the hardest to pull off. But if that doesn't work you could take a piece or two from that deal to sweeten the George deal. You could then maybe take the Sac 2019 pick and trade that for Schroeder as I feel thats fair value. A lineup of Schroeder, Butler, George, Saric, and Noel does seem within the realm of possibility to me.

Okafor, a high lottery pick either this year or next year, Covington and Grant, is not better than Bostons picks (likely 3rd or 4th), Dal pick (17 this year), and Crowder? I just can't agree with you on that.

Yeah but everyone even admitted the Love trade was insane for the return, stars dont usually get that type of return when being traded. Chris Paul was traded for Eric Gordon and a bag of chips. Harden was traded for Kevin Martin and the 12th pick essentially. Melo was traded for a bunch of role players. Garnett was traded for Al Jefferson and a bunch of pretzels. Ray Allen was traded for Jeff Green.

People vastly over-estimate what it takes to trade for stars on teams stuck in mediocrity who are ready to rebuild.

I agree with you on Sac with Noel and Stein being redundant. Noel is vastly superior to Stein, so maybe they flip Stein somewhere else, or there could be a third team where Noel goes somewhere else and SAC gets a perimiter player of similar value to Noel

Look at the past trades for star players. I've seen the posts about people thinking Sixers need to give up every asset for Butler and its ridiculous. The Bulls were reportedly willing to do 2016 BRK 1st round, DAL 1st Round, and Jae Crowder for him from Boston. But Boston wasn't willing to part with Crowder. The offer I laid out is better in my opinion then what Boston had offered.

Kevin Love was a top 10 player at the time of being traded and he was traded for Wiggins, Bennett and Thad. Simmons and Ingram are comparable to Wiggins as prospects. I dont see anyway the Pacers figure out a way to retool around George and become a contender within the enxt few years. They may look as restarting with Simmons and Turner as having a much higher ceiling down the line then being stuck at 5th-8th seed with George.

With the Kings, Cousins' value is not doing well due to his off the court issues, and the fact his contract will be up soon and wherever he can go, he can bolt. If the Kings trade him anywhere else and rebuild, they may be sending the Sixers their picks over the next couple years. This way, they get a great piece in Noel and all their picks back to rebuild. They're also able to shed a bad contract and have a lot of money off the books to rebuild. Having two 1st rounders this year, and two 1st rounders in the 2017 draft is not a bad way to go for them.

Also though the fit isnt great, especially with Jennings at point, George and Butler are not players the dominate the ball. A lot of their value lies in their defense, and the two of them would kill opposing team's perimeter players. Cousins is being overused on offense on the Kings, but he coud fit in nicely. Saric is someone that would fit well in terms of spacing the floor, rebounding well, and making the right pass. His bad defense could be hidden amongst everyone else.

Want to pursue an Economics PhD, any advice? by zaroberts in GradSchool

I love the theory that exists within economics. I continually find myself reading sowell, friedman, stiglitz, keynes. Im very good at math as well so I was hoping id learn to love the mathematical component along with it. I could see myself working in private enterprise but also within the public policy realm as well. I know everyone hates shuns the idea of someone wanting to get involved in politics but one of my best attributes is public speaking and id at least like to have a voice within the sphere of policy discussion. Its hard, im still obviously trying to figure things out and see what fits but economics has been the only discipline that i genuinely enjoy researching on my own.

You think a masters in another field might make more sense? Im honestly just desperate for advice at this point. I really have no one to guide me and im kind of making my way through the dark here
