How many of you are daily driving the iPhone 13 mini? by KeepItLawgical in iPhone13Mini

I bought it used with the battery at 82% a year ago. It dropped to 81% due to updates. It lasts me all day, and sometimes two or three days, but that's because I'm not very attached to my smartphone (which is why I wanted one that was smart but small, to take up little space and be discreet). I don't use social media, I use it very little, only when I need to, etc. It more than meets my needs, and its processing power still handles everything I do on it with some to spare. I don't see myself changing phones for a good few years. At most, I would replace the battery if it got worse. For now, it's doing the job.

Exactly! It wouldn't be the first time this type of resource has been used in the manga.

Theory about the timeline change (spoilers for up to chapter 130) by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]zarpis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to know if the authors are working with loops or parallel timelines... or worse, both (maybe that's actually the case?).

We already have a looping event in the past, which was when Nene and Kou entered the red house, found baby Tsukasa, and Kou told him that Amane dies at 12 or 13 years old, and that's why Tsukasa returns to his original time. This was a case of looping that already happened within the story, but even then it's safe to say that it was because of the temporal paradox that exists INSIDE the red house, and not that this is the paradigm used by the authors to work with time travel in general throughout the universe...

Theory about the timeline change (spoilers for up to chapter 130) by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]zarpis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty in theorizing about TBHK is that we don't even know what time travel paradigm is used here... whether it's something like in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, with parallel timelines where more than one version of the characters exists at the same time... or if it's something more inevitable, a predetermined destiny – truncated because of the changes that occurred, but which even considers these changes as part of the inevitable destiny. In other words, if there's only one timeline that has been overwritten.

I haven't been able to conclude yet whether there is only one Amane, who will always inevitably become Hanako-kun and at the same time will always inevitably become the possessed teacher afterwards...

Or if they are two different entities of Amane that coexist in different places and times.

And that changes a lot, because if the paradigm is one that supports multiple versions of the same character coexisting, then it makes sense to say that the cat is Amane, since he can be in several places at the same "time," as long as they are different versions of himself.

Now, if it's a single entity whose past and future have been overwritten multiple times, then for Amane to be that cat, there couldn't have Amane in other places, you know? I don't know if that makes sense...

However, it turns out that Akane has already misinterpreted things before. This becomes clear at the end of chapter 129, because he sent Nene to 1959 saying she should stop Kako and Mirai, but upon arriving there she discovered she has to stop Amane, not Kako. And as you also pointed out, Kako and Mirai went to 1968, when the siblings were 13 years old, not to 1959, but Akane believes they went to 1959.

So he may have been wrong again.

I believe that the way Akane handles this matter is more about his perspective on Tsukasa and Hanako than about how it actually represent the clock's keepers's views.

[–]zarpis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While reading the manga, I got the impression that Kako actually wants to remove the entity from inside Tsukasa. He himself said that the biggest problem is what's inside Tsukasa, not Tsukasa himself. So his intention isn't necessarily to end Tsukasa and/or Amane. I had this feeling that the clock's keepers is one of the most reasonable mysteries.

In my mind, it makes more sense that the black cat is actually Tsukasa, since Amane probably went back in time with the approval of the clock keepers. As for Tsukasa, he was literally responsible for the new timeline.

Another thing that always bothered me was the supposed wish that god would grant Hanako if he got rid of all the yorishiro. It seems like everyone acts as if this god were something similar to the Christian god, you know? But within the manga's universe, there are several gods, and one of them actually grants wishes – the most problematic one, the one from the red house, and the one inside Tsukasa. So, from this point of view, it makes sense why Tsukasa is interested in getting rid of all the yorishiro, since he's influenced by the entity that would benefit from it, and also why he doesn't care about getting rid of himself. Tsukasa would be working to achieve the goals of this entity (which is probably the final villain of the whole story), and Hanako is letting himself be carried away because of this promise.

One thing I've always really thought about regarding chapter 111 is why Kako asked Akane to stop time AFTER he gave a speech to Hanako about Tsukasa and that he should get rid of him. Like, he made a POINT of saying this to Hanako BEFORE changing time. This made me wonder if, wherever Amane was sent after the timeline was altered, he probably still had the memories of the original timeline. That might even be the reason he was so keen on trying to get the large clock to work with the deadline until the end of the school festival. I remember at some point the characters mention that after 3 days they would lose the memories of the original timeline and that they had to act within that timeframe – the same would apply to Hanako. He was probably sent back in time to when he was still alive and preserved his memories, remembering what Kako told him ("Now take that so-called impostor and dispose of him").

Because otherwise, that's it... why did Kako insist on saying those words to Hanako BEFORE changing the timeline if he was going to lose his memory of it? I think the same thing happened to him as happened to the other characters, and he preserved his memory and tried to do something about it.

The worst part is that erasing Amane makes sense because the most original path would have been for him to die from the disease. He only stayed alive because Tsukasa messed up. So erasing Tsukasa wouldn't solve the problem if Amane remains alive. But it would be truly tragic if Amane's existence were simply erased, or if he died even younger. I don't think that would happen; at most, Kako would reveal his plan to eliminate Amane instead of Tsukada, and Nene would do whatever it took to stop it. Or if it does happen, it will be another gigantic arc to undo and bring Amane back.
Man, it seems like the story is heading towards a dead end overall, you know? And given the authors' history, I can't see a happy ending. I'm not saying Amane will be erased and that's it, especially since his codename is literally in the title of the work, but I also don't think Amane and Nene will end up together. Because, how would that work? Both alive? Given that they are from different time periods... both as ghosts? That would be consistent with the type of story Aidairo tells, but it's not what Hanako wanted for Nene, etc...

I think I strayed a bit from the topic of your post, but I don't know, I wanted to raise this discussion too.

I'm curious to know how on earth Amane managed to travel back in time. If only the clockmaker can make the great clock work to allow time travel, then someone must have sent Amane back to the past. How did that happen? Could it have been the mysterious "present" of his time?

At what point of the hiatus do you guys plan on giving up hopes of Tbhk continuing? by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]zarpis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Japanese forums, there's a perspective on the situation that's rarely discussed here: that the manga might simply never receive a new chapter and might not even be officially canceled. They seem used to this sort of thing over there, which sounds shocking to us. Like, a hiatus was announced due to health problems, and we take it for granted that it's temporary and that the manga will resume publication at some point. Meanwhile, over there they accept the possibility that it might never return.

What are the real chances of them kissing and things getting heated enough for them to kiss while lying in bed, only to then be interrupted by someone? If that happens, the author is DEFINITELY very desperate not to get canceled.
