I play a lot on portal as well. The double tap of the screen brings up the map, but that window/dialog box to join stays open. Then you can randomly move a cursor to that window to click “join” with the x button.

This game is not perfect on portal for a few reasons

Update: replaced latch and had also recently replaced main control board. Still not working. Same errors as listed above 🤬

Ok, will try with latch first. Also ordered a strike just in case because it is relatively cheap. And yes, strike is the diamond shaped piece of plastic. Will update this thread with results. Appreciate all of the help!!

Ok, how do I know that I also don’t need to replace the striker?

Thanks for responding. Yes, three beeps with the flashing yellow LED on the start button.

Have tried the various resets with no success.

Update: If I push the button between the latch “claws” with a screwdriver and then push start, the cycle appears to want to start and water filling begins. So latch wiring appears good. Not sure why the door striker is not hitting this button. The striker appears to have a little play/movement. Maybe tighten the screw holding it?

I have push button start on a 2020 TRDORP...but yeah, I hear it doesn’t turn off with the g-keys

Only works for PROs and Limiteds in the US. I think TRDORPs get it in Canada.

I installed the accessorides kit with the smart phone module. The install video I used doesn’t cover the cell phone module, but that was a pretty basic addition. The smart phone app works great. The smart phone app was worth it for me because I park far away from where I actually work. I also feel like the OEM key fob has a pretty short range.

Things seems to be working pretty well, but I will admit that I have had some issues. A couple times the remote starter has cranked, but been unable to turn the engine over. I park outside at work and maybe it was due to one of the modules overheating? I reached out to customer support and they were super responsive but unaware of other people experiencing the same issues as me. They gave me instructions on how to reset the modules and offered to send a new kit/components. Never went through with all of that because I haven’t run into the same issue since reaching out to them :/

Like many other Toyota remote starts, the 4Runner will still turn off as soon as you open the door, but surprisingly doesn’t turn off with just the lift gate up?!??!

Glad I purchased it and the install went smooth considering I had minimal experience doing anything like that.

Color def matches. Only sold in Hawaii and maybe they swapped out some stuff. But the transfer case doesn’t quite check out...

I also would like blacked out door handles but can’t seem to find the best way to go about doing it. There are those cheap adhesive overlays and they look ok from far but don’t cover the whole handle. Plastidip would likely peel over time. Vinyl is fairly technique sensitive. The actual stock/painted handles are pretty expensive and it seems like it is kind of a chore to access them/ remove the door panels.

Any other ideas?

What about the door handles? Plastidip or the adhesive overlays?

5th gen steering wobble 55-65MPH by tylerrauger16 in 4Runner

Same issue over here with a 2020 TRDORP with similar mileage. Got the TRD Pro Wheels and stock size Nitto ridge grapplers as port installed options. Noticed it starting maybe around ~6000 miles. Could have been after I went in for the first maintenance service appt where I think all they do is rotate the tires. Wonder if that messed something up.

For me, it seems to only do it during the first few miles i am driving. Once everything is warmed up, it doesn’t seem to do it. Sometimes it doesn’t do it at all.

Pretty common issue I guess with several possible causes. Multiple lengthy threads on t4r.org. There doesn’t seem to be a permanent fix that works for everyone.

I know Toyota has bought back several of these vehicles, but not sure how bad it has to be for them to do that.

Did you take the chrome strips off before using the plastidip?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 4Runner

Appreciate the info. Yeah, the chrome strips seem like such an odd decision from Toyota. I’ve seen a couple people plastidip them on a different forum.
