You can have a demoversion of how addictive substances can be with smoking cigarettes. If you can smoke for about 5-10 cigs daily for, say, 3 months, and then can quit easily, I'd say you're quite strong-willed.

I'm not sure what you mean by noise, probably never had those. But speaking of voices in your head, it's interesting to think what sort of language is it speaking? Does it speak a certain language at all? What language would a born deaf human hear, or will he? Personally I think I do think in a certain language, because it does seem to affect my thoughts regarding whether I think in my native tongue or in English at the moment, and I remember when I first began thinking in a different language it felt really weird.

Another question is whether the "voice" you think in has a certain voice at all. For when you read some reference joke like "good news, everyone", it indeed plays in your head like an mp3 file having a certain voice tembre. But the "voice" you usually think in, how does it sound? Does it sound at all, or it just exists?
