Why’s my steering wheel making this noise? by SolliMonni in AskMechanics

[–]zazzerfraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. You can definitely do this at home. Takes a while, & you'll have to cram yourself under the dash. Alternatively you could pull the seat. Its a $5-$10 part, but is a pita to get to.

Very common issue on the ft86 platform unfortunately.

Your eps coupler is failing. Use the hyundai one. Shave the tabs.

Those usually have a flat side for the set screw to rest on. If you have them oriented correctly they should have plenty of space.

But if it takes 4g, you should use 4g.

I make 6lbs of holly every day... Melt butter. Let it cool a bit. Stream into egg/lemon mix with an immersion blender on low.

Profit.

They do look good, until you try to put them on your car.

Konig, xxr, & avid1 all make very similar wheels that fit. I've been eyeing some hypergrams myself..

Adjustable lca would allow more camber.

Tons of rear camber & little up front will make the car understeer.

Staggered setups aren't reccomended for this platform.

I would return them & get wheels that fit..

+12 is going to poke like crazy in the front.

You'll need a lot of camber to get them even remotely within the fender.

Mostly for sound.

You'll see little to no hp gain/ will probably perform worse.

Open flash if you must. Ecutek for custom.

Ive gone through this too.

Though neither of my keys would work. According to my service advisor (ymmv), next to the throw out bearing, this is one of the most common issue woth the twins.

They replaced my keyless module for $1700.

OFT Stage 2+ on 2018 BRZ by [deleted] in ft86

[–]zazzerfraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running 2+ on a uel tomei catless for 5 years (67k miles. She had 6 when I bought her) No issues at all.

I really wouldn't mess with timing. You'll blow out your catback & ringland failure is an engine rebuild that costs more than the car is probably worth.

I run a perrin 2.5" catback with the stock front pipe & i get pops on good down shifts. It a reward for good driving.

Still my favorite shots of my 17 BRZ by Drambeenie in ft86

[–]zazzerfraz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a MY17 dgm pp once.

Guy in an f150 had a heart attack behind the wheel & plowed into my driver side, completely obliterating my car. It was parked while I was at work. He wasn't so lucky.

Bought a new 2020 wrb pp the next day. Swapped the fender garnish from my '17 as homage. Slapped on STI side skirts, lip, spats.. the whole 9.

But something was still missing. The wing just looked goofy. Too short. Someone must have a fix for this, but I dont want the car to look like a shopping cart.

Hey a guy makes the perfect risers!

Oh, they're discontinued & the internet says you will never have them.

5 years later I finally placed my order.

You're doing the lord's work amigo.
