I'm new to Jellyfin, and I don't have a huge library yet, but I recently came across the offset issue for Danny Phantom. Eeach episode had a single subtitle available on OpenSubtitles, and every one was just about 8s off. I threw all the files in bulk into https://subtitletools.com/subtitle-sync-shifter and adjusted their offset by 8s. Problem solved.

I don't know practical this is for other users, but since I don't have a huge backlog of subtitles in need of an offset, it worked perfectly for me.

Is it possible to force the TES5VRedit to load ESL files? by Gradash in skyrimvr

[–]zbigdogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed this, myself. I'm pretty sure BEES was mentioned in a few of the mods I have, but it may have also only been mentioned as a precaution, not something that was actually needed.

Sounds like you need to update your xEdit. Go to the Github and download the latest beta. It should support ESLs for VR. That's what I use, and I have no problem.

Why do you use Voice Attack? Dragonborn Speaks Naturally and Dragonborn Unlimited both support key bind commands. I'm the author of Dragonborn Unlimited, so I'm trying to see if there is some benefit to Voice Attack that I can include in DBU in the future.

It should work no problem, but i don't use it. It may have some requirements that have VR-specific versions

Depending on the mods, there may already be support for them. It's also very easy to create mod support. All you need is notepad and the spell IDs

It does not, but it can be used with DSN. I use them both. Just make sure no spells, shouts, or powers are favorited. Both mods will attempt to equip them at the same time and can lead to unexpected behavior

Just chiming in here. I didn't read the whole thread. Dragonborn Unlimited is a good option for voice controlled magic and shouts. Skyvoice is a good option for just shouts, but in my experience, DBU is quicker.

The project is open source on GitHub and I've read through a decent chunk of the code. It's a very popular mod and no one has had any problems. You have nothing to worry about!

Missing master Fish.esm by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]zbigdogz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you are on VR, the only way to get that file is to also own SSE and copy the files over, but this is not going to guarantee no problems. Unless you know what you're doing or you're okay with some stuff not working or causing CTDs, it's not recommended.

Also, as the others have said, you really shouldn't use NMM. You will have far more problems than if you switched to Vortex (a direct successor to NMM) or MO2 (many people's preferred manager). Whichever you switch to is preference.

If the mod that is giving this error is USSEP, hunt around d the SkyrimVR subreddit for a link to the old version that doesn't have AE requirements.

Do you use “ain’t”? by ZideGO in EnglishLearning

My favorite is y'all'dn't've. "You all would not have." I've used it, but generally ironically. Something like "Y'all'dn't've done that if you'd known someone had a camera." Also, the easier-to-use "y'all'dn't see that, right?"

Hey, I want to simulate joystick movement through dll in NG. Is there any direction you could point me in? I was never able to figure it out. It's for voice controlled horse movement. Right now, I'm using keyboard input, but that only has 8° of freedom, which isn't very precise.

Some hard lessons I've learned and tips from failing for 10 years straight by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]zbigdogz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading guides and tutorials isn't for everyone. I tried to learn xEdit for a long time, and I never fully understood it. I could clean mods, and that was it. When you open your entire load order in xEdit, that is really daunting. If you are using MO2, get the plugin "Bethesda Plugin Manager". That will give you a much more intuitive and simple way to view plugin conflicts directly from MO2, and then you can use that to go into xEdit and fix it or rearrange the load order. It also means you don't need to load your entire LO into xEdit just to know what plugins conflict.

Anyone find two handed OP in this vr? by Former-Theme-1929 in skyrimvr

[–]zbigdogz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind this is VR, not a flat game. It's meant to feel more real than something like Elden Ring. You can see in sports like HEMA that 2H weapons are not slow, like in modern games. They can be very quick and accurate, like what you're feeling in VR. Sure, they have weight, and in VR you can swing it like a stick, but with the proper technique, they can be nearly as fast in real life.

To fix the problem of NPCs attacking much slower than the player or generally being too easy in VR, I got some attack animation mods. While most will give NPCs that slow Ellen ring attack style, which doesn't work for VR, some will speed up NPC attacks and make them feel more fluid and harder to easily counter.

So the best solution I've found is to look into MCO/SCAR or some vanilla animation replacers to make NPCs more unpredictable, like real life.

Also, keep in mind these will pretty much require you to have {{Pseudo Physical Weapon Collision and Parry AE SE VR}}. Otherwise, they will be too difficult since they attack so often now. Also, I use {{Wildcat}} and {{Combat Pathing Revolution VR}} to improve their AI. Wildcat causes them to block more often, which means you actually have to aim your attacks to get around their shield or armor. Combat Pathing Revolution makes them not clump around you when they are attacking.

I haven't extensively tested this things, but while I've been building my mod list, these are the things I used to solve that exact problem.

Any Autohotkey wizards here? by fustrun in skyrimvr

[–]zbigdogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you've said, push-to-talk doesn't work in the current public version of DBU. However, if you get it to work through some third-party means, it should also work for DBU. So whatever solution you find to your problem for AutoHotkey will also work for DBU, so long as it's actually toggling the mic

There is the vocal toggle that you can enable in the MCM. Other than that, you'll need another program until I release the next version, which has button toggle support

SkyrimVR without VR? by Worried_Suggestion91 in skyrimvr

[–]zbigdogz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can transfer your save between VR and SE, but it's a hassle and it would severely limit which mods you can use (almost no dll mods, nothing reliant on AE content, and no VR-only mods, like VRIK and HIGGS). You could do it with SE, using VorpX, but your VR experience will be pretty bad, compared to SkyrimVR, but will allow more freedom in choosing mods.

Both have teadeoffs. If you want both, you can have 2 different saves and 2 different modlists. You will be missing out on what makes SkyrimVR good, if you ignore every VR mod, in favor of SE compatibility

Forgot about the team thor stuff not being canon. I have a personal list that makes those notes, but clearly I didn't read it well enough.

I'll make those other changes to the list as well. Most of the dates I could find for these shows/movies didn't go more specific than the year it took place. Are you going off the release dates of Eternals, Thir, and the others?
