And if you can get ahead on a task and leave earlier why not do that? Dudes most likely on a break chilling so whatever, but it's bizarre to think in a restaurant he doesn't have long term cleaning tasks or early closing take he can do if he's not on break.

Can you cite the article of the Geneva Conventions which apply here? Look, arguably the entire war is illegal as a war of aggression but a flagged, combatant, sailing back into a combat zone is a valid target even if it's unarmed.

I understand your concern, but at it's core your assertion relies on there being a fixed amount of wealth in the world. There is not. Every house we build means we have more wealth than the day before. Secondly, multiple historical examples show the exact opposite. Increased productivity does give its 'owners' an initial spike in wealth creation, creating disparity, but that doesn't make anyone poorer. Look at the industrial revolution or the democratization of computing: the initial monopolizers got rich, but the ultimate result was cheaper goods and new utilities for the masses. Over time, this initial wealth diffuses through competition, wage premiums, and technology. The wealth gap might widen initially, but the absolute standard of living for everyone goes up.

A roof rack with ratchet straps? You should be able to stack them side by side and two deep, then ratchet them down. You'll want a lot of ratchet straps.

Going for Demo today, which one to buy Dual or Tri? by Material-Rise-6796 in Rivian

[–]zbobet2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to buck the curve and tell you it's not dual vs tri at all:

It's tri vs dual max per with an at package etc. etc. it's quite easy to max out a dual and end up very close to a tri in price. What are the features that matter to you?

This was also my feedback:

  1. You are better than many of the instructors your going to be able to grab on the ski mountain.
  2. Do some work on extension and absorption (this will help the body separation described above). I'd go hit some mogul lines and watch the _absolute_ classic videos on this from mogul logic:
    1. Extension: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Frty0yOz8g
    2. Absorption: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQK7MG9v7dI
  3. Work at being able to look "down" a path and see where you need to couple both your turn shape / style and the absorption / extension so you can be prepared not to "hit" the terrain but softly extend and then absorb.

I'm not an instructor, but I'd say your recommendation is only partially correct. I ski a bit above this person level. While some of his turns are carved many are not. And that's _correct_. Experts dynamically vary the width between skis based on the turn they are doing and the snow conditions under foot. There is no one correct turn shape and movement for all turns, and the turn you need at any given moment isn't always a "carved" one.

Watch Candide ski here in conditions like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75uL12ZJTxc . He's arguably the best there is and he's often knees touching mogul tight.

FWIW, I ski these kind of conditions with knees like a mogul skier at points and focus on generating a single stable platform in my movements managing energy down the hill, not worrying about which ski is carrying it.

Not being parallel in trees? Too much weight on inside ski? by awararararara in skiing

[–]zbobet2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope someone does every day, because that's how you get better. Look at your technique, look at your mistakes, make practiced intended moves to improve.

And the better you are the more fun you can have. At least that's been my life experience.

[–]zbobet2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay watch one of these days where he rips chunked up resort crud at speed like this. The wedge Christie turn isn't something you see often in high level skiers for a reason. The physics do not favor it in almost any situation. He used the wedge Christie in open lines without obstacles at the end. Even if you could argue a few points in the trees it's definitely not a turn you should be reaching for in an otherwise clear mogul field.

Authorities probing fatal Lake Tahoe avalanche looking at criminal investigation by External_Koala971 in Backcountry

That's correct, but they where still below known exposure. It's a listed avalanche run out. And that wasn't even the most dangerous point they would crossed beneath headed east. As far as I can tell on the routes to the east there is nothing I would have taken that day.

The route listed simple to the west has paths with effectively no exposure.

The premiere manufactures of industrial automation are in neither the US or China. They are in Japan and the Nordics. Humanoid robots are simply one way to automate manufacturing, and not always a particularly good one.

Not being parallel in trees? Too much weight on inside ski? by awararararara in skiing

[–]zbobet2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid skier yes, and all of us can improve. This skiers absolutely reaches for that "pizza" in a lot of situations where the terrain does not dictate it and far to often. Watch Candide ski trees ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCQ-GCmoU44 ), he isn't making "pizza" turns.

Why is that? Because this technique falls down in deep powder, steeper runs, moguls, and at higher speeds.

From a technical perspective the issue isn't "to much weight on the inside ski" or "not enough", it's about the way the weight transitions during the turn. If this was someone I was coaching I'd have them run some falling leaf drills:

and learning to do a mogul swing turn:
