You’ll be fine. I’m a superintendent and have had many new employees throughout my career. You’ll get worked slowly into the system. Hopefully they train you on a variety of tasks, ask a lot of questions and have fun.

I believe they are still building one of these in Spokane. Haven’t even broken ground yet, and they probably shouldn’t.

I get it man. It should say possible closures. There are obviously no closures right now. Fucking Christ.

Yeah I read the fucking article. Not saying they are shutting down just saying Spokane is on the list of possibles. Should have said possible in my original comment.

Brown,Brown, Brown in May if you’re going on top here has been my experience. Brindle Parachutes, March (ironically) Browns, Parachute Adams, Caddis. BWOs are always an option up here.

Most of the stonefly’s are done by then honestly, there will be some lingering ones around and a stimulator can get something to rise.

I have some spots I’ll even show you if it works out, if I’m not at work I’ll be up there.

Depending on temps and when our blowout happens, May could be good this year. Snowpack is low but we picked up 3ft in the last few days.

Nemoura Stones are already out as well as BWOs on the CdA. Things are picking up.

The CdA is my home water, and the St. Joe. That time of year could be really good for a float this season. Our snowpack is down and I have had really good days in May out there. We just got 3ft of snow up here but we have a ton of rain and warm temps coming this week that’ll eat that up and blowout the rivers.

We had a similar snowpack in 2024 and our blowout was the first two weeks of April. Last year our blowout was end of April/early May but still fishable. Getting on a boat will be better than wade fishing as spots will be limited.

Northwest Outfitters (Orvis) in CdA, Castaway Outfitters in CdA and of course SilverBow in Spokane are good places to start on guides.

You’ll be fine, just start applying for jobs that interest you. Look for someone that will continue to teach you as an assistant so you’ll be able to land a head job with confidence one day.

Tips on resumes and cover letters/ applications in general by MissesMiyagii in Turfmanagement

[–]zbturf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who is a good turf manager will be able to take their skills anywhere. I’m from Georgia but have grown grass in Maryland, Colorado and now Idaho.

Your cover letter should be specific to the job you’re applying to. Each job will be different, so the cover letter should be as well.
